Replying to: sinsd (Jan 12, 2009 10:00 pm) Yes, the $16,929 included the $670 destination charge (at least I think it was $670 - I don't have the paperwork in front of me, so I don't remember exactly). The out the door price was $18,534, meaning I wrote a check for that amount and left with the car.   Tupuc...sales tax in CA is 7.75%. I'll post a more detailed breakdown of the purchase fees later. Replying to: sinsd (Jan 12, 2009 10:00 pm) Ok...I looked at the sale documents and here's the break down.   Sale price = $16,929 Doc Prep = $55 Sales Tax = $1316.26 DMV Filing Fee = $29 License Fee = $110 Registration Fee = $86 California Tires Fee = $8.75 (I have no clue what this is)   Total OTD purchase price = $18,534.01   I hope this info helps others. I am very happy with the car. This is our third Civic (we had a 1986, and we still have a 1997 - which we still drive daily and has 180K miles with an original clutch!). I always thought Civics were very common cars and that it would be easy to find the combination we wanted. But, it appears that manual transmissions are only desirable by old geezers like me and it was a chore to find an LX-S with a manual in the Polished Metal Metallic color. It may be an illusion, but it just felt "sportier". A lot more fun to drive than any automatic I've had... I feel more involved with the driving experience.   E. In July 2008 I purchased a Civic Coupe LX in Baltimore, MD and paid $18,600 total. Was this a decent price? Also I turned down all of the dealer provided extras but now I'm thinlking that maybe I should have gotten the undercoating. Was not getting it a bad decision?
