A well maintained well cared for Honda still in good shape does hold it's value extremely well, no debating that. Last year I sold my 99 CRV with 140K miles for $5800 listing it also on Craiglist in 3 days.

Actually, the vast majority of EX Civics sold aren't the EXL's. A lot of people have no use for leather especially in a Civic.

You won't save any money traveling to OR or CA. that is a bad rumor. We all pay the same for our cars. No incentive money on Civics.

good price for a 2009 civic lx by mzblue

This is my first time going to a dealership. I called a popular dealership and asked them the best price i can get on a 4-door,2009 honda civic lx auto transmission, His quote was $16,886 which includes destination charge.
Went to a different dealership to actually test drive the car. After wasting my time, their offer was $17, 329. After i told them i had a better deal at $16,886, their new offer was $17, 200 and when i said i was going to walk out, the asks me to wait, wastes my time again and finally comes back with a sheet indicating that the invoice price is $16,818 so the $17,200 i got offered is the best deal around. i thanked him and walked out.

iAnyway, I'd called a different dealership while this guy was wasting my time and he offered me something in the $17k range, but when i said i'd been offered a different deal, he asked how low and i said $16,800. He goes "if i offer it to you at 16,800, will you buy it?" i go "yes". so he puts me on hold, comes back and tells me i can have the car for $16,800 with the destination charge included with the price. The only fees are $99 processing fee which seems to be the same for the dealerships around here plus tax and tags. I did go to the dealership and the price was the same as he's quoted on the phone. i didn't try to renegotiate. I'm wondering if i coulda gone lower and had a better deal. Mind you the 16,800 includes the $500 cashback honda is having. is this worth it or can i get a better price?
thanks.

What's invoice for LX? by steve_rbts

I want to buy a 2009 Civic LX with auto trans. I have an offer of
$17,123 + $300 tax + $199 documentation fees + tags for
a total of $17,698 OTD. That seems like a good price to me.
I keep reading where people are buying for invoice plus tax, tags
and fees. What is invoice for the Civic LX with auto trans?

i saw the invoice somewhere for $16, 525 national base price, not including the $670 destination price.
Kelly blue book lists the invoice as $17,3**, i'm not sure if that includes the destination charge.
I had a dealer show me a sheet with a list of all their cars with the invoice and MSRPs listed and the invoice for the lx on that sheet was $16,818.
Honda has a $500 cashbacks most dealerships won't tell you about.
I need to call a different guy tomorrow but if i can get it for $16,700 or a little less, it might convince me to give up on the corolla.
hope this helps.

with the 6% tax, fees and tags, mine came a little under $18,000. i haven't sealed the deal yet. it's the best price i've found soo far but i'm looking to see if i can get an extra 100 knocked off. btw, it is the lx auto, 2009.

I got the LX-Auto with Splash Guard for 16.5 + Tax, Title (275.50) from HughWhite Honda, Columbus OH. Best deal around this location.. I was able to match the deal Dayton dealer (mattcastruccihonda) was offering (1000$ cashback in addition to sales price) and got the color we wanted... This is my second purchase from HughWhite and never had issues.. and they are very good to deal with.. Hope this helps someone around this area.

I would suggest doing a price check for 200 miles radius to get the best deal.
