He had you sign an "option contract". That meant if your financing were to fall through, they would still have a cashable contract. Most stores are smart enough to do this.
With Honda offering rates at 1.9 for 36 months and 3.9 for 60 months, I'm surprised you would use your own financing!
Enjoy!

HI,
I am planning on buying a 09 Civic LX Auto Sedan, and I have the best internet quote from Dublin Honda. I read some really bad reviews on the web about Dublin Honda's sales force. I am dealing with a guy called Tito Perez, and wanted to know who your sales person was, and did you have to watch out for anything else.
It is encouraging that you had a positive experience.
Thanks

OK, I ended up buying a VP automatic in Royal Blue. Happy as a clam. Price was the best I could get (16,230 OTD) and the car was actually in stock. There was a big after Christmas sale at Boch dealership in the Boston area. Other dealers should take note: I communicated online (in a chat mode) with a salesman and we agreed on a price online, then I came to the dealership and actually was shown the car I bought and documents were almost ready when I arrived, with the price we agreed on. Boch claims they are the largest Honda dealership in the world. I don't know if this is true or not, but I was quite impressed. I cross-shopped against Corolla, but could not bring myself to buy it, Civic is so much nicer.
Good my 2-week search ended. Happy Holidays to all!

The price including destination was 15,175, then they gave me a doc fee discount to $249. I paid $86 for new plates and do not remember what else. Total 16,270. I did not bother to ask what invoice was when we chatted online. The price was "one-day special", but I do not know if that is true or not. I would certainly recommend trying them. What I liked best is that all the price negotiation was online, and I could print out entire chat. When I arrived, we did not discuss prices at all. Boch dealership was crowded yesterday, unlike in other places where I went in the last 2 weeks, which were somber and empty.
Also, I liked that they had the car in stock and when I drove it, it had only 3 miles on it.

Just do a proper break in and barring oem defects, you'll be GTG to 400,000 miles plus !

Thx for sharing and good for you! You got a great price and the negotiations were easy. You knew what a great price was and jumped on it. You did your homework well. I hope you're going to give your sales person a perfect CSI when the survey arrives.

Thanks. I'll search Internet what the proper break-in procedure is. I do not recall if I did anything special on my 1997 Civic. It would've served me still, if a drunk wouldn't have totaled it crashing in the rear. A tow company is still to tow poor thing away... The old Civic's dead, hail the new one!
