You won't get anywhere on the lease fee. We all have to pay it, even me! These aren't negiotable...sorry.

an update on my 2009 LX, automatic by neednegotiator

Hi folks,
I posted last week about my options here in South East Michigan. I ended up getting the car for 17,000 + TTL, for an OTD total of 18,300 (6% tax and a brand new plate which was over $100) which was the lowest I could seem to get around here. I know I am not the world's best negotiator, so I am sure it is not a super 'deal,' but I was happy with the easy transaction and low pressure sales experience.

Happy holidays...

Honda Civic EX-L Manual Transmission by sellthesedown

Hi! I used this forum when I was researching, so I figured I'd 'give back'.

I bought a 2009 EX-L with a manual transmission, Crystal Black Pearl, this past weekend. Got it at Dublin Honda (Dublin, CA) from their internet sales dude. They matched the price from Zag/USAA/Overstock.com - $19,581 (which includes destination fee). It's about $300 under invoice - I didn't want to have to negotiate in person. With San Francisco sales tax running at 8.5%, my OTD price was $21,458.

I generally liked my sales guy, he was low pressure. Just pissed that he conned me into signing a credit check form, even though I came in with my own financing. 'Business manager', AKA F&I guy, was getting frustrated that I wanted to understand everything on the form I was signing (he was not my favorite).

Anyway, I was the first person to drive the car, took it home last Saturday, now I'm 380 miles. First tank got 33 MPG combined, though I do mostly highway driving. I'm happy with my purchase!

He had you sign an "option contract". That meant if your financing were to fall through, they would still have a cashable contract. Most stores are smart enough to do this.

With Honda offering rates at 1.9 for 36 months and 3.9 for 60 months, I'm surprised you would use your own financing!

Enjoy!

HI,
I am planning on buying a 09 Civic LX Auto Sedan, and I have the best internet quote from Dublin Honda. I read some really bad reviews on the web about Dublin Honda's sales force. I am dealing with a guy called Tito Perez, and wanted to know who your sales person was, and did you have to watch out for anything else.
It is encouraging that you had a positive experience.
Thanks

Civic VP by shhessy

OK, I ended up buying a VP automatic in Royal Blue. Happy as a clam. Price was the best I could get (16,230 OTD) and the car was actually in stock. There was a big after Christmas sale at Boch dealership in the Boston area. Other dealers should take note: I communicated online (in a chat mode) with a salesman and we agreed on a price online, then I came to the dealership and actually was shown the car I bought and documents were almost ready when I arrived, with the price we agreed on. Boch claims they are the largest Honda dealership in the world. I don't know if this is true or not, but I was quite impressed. I cross-shopped against Corolla, but could not bring myself to buy it, Civic is so much nicer.
Good my 2-week search ended. Happy Holidays to all!

The price including destination was 15,175, then they gave me a doc fee discount to $249. I paid $86 for new plates and do not remember what else. Total 16,270. I did not bother to ask what invoice was when we chatted online. The price was "one-day special", but I do not know if that is true or not. I would certainly recommend trying them. What I liked best is that all the price negotiation was online, and I could print out entire chat. When I arrived, we did not discuss prices at all. Boch dealership was crowded yesterday, unlike in other places where I went in the last 2 weeks, which were somber and empty.
Also, I liked that they had the car in stock and when I drove it, it had only 3 miles on it.
