Bought an LX AT yesterday at Huntington Honda (Long Island, NY) Price: $17,269.00 NY Sales Tax (8.625%) $1,489.45 NYS Waste Tire Management Fee: $12.50 (wtf?)  Dealer fee for processing registration & title: $45.00 NYS Inspection: $10.00 TOTAL OTD: $18,825.95 I got the price from an ad they ran in last Friday's paper. 2 other dealers ran an ad with the same price +/- $100. This is my 5th car from this dealer in the last 5 years, and the 2nd in 3 months (both Civics). Plus they had the color I wanted. Regular rates on AHFC financing. Off topic: Has anyone been to a dealer where a computer generates the sales contract instead of having the salesman write it up by hand? Or have the leasing or financing contract generated by computer instead of typing on a pre-printed form?Why is the "paperwork" part of the purchasing process the same as it was 15 years ago?

I just got tired of arguing. the Lehigh Valley, Doylestown, and Phillipsburg Honda dealerships were useless. Be ready for the financing people to try to sell you service contracts, wax and whatnot after you have completed the car deal. |

PLEASE help me on this...I.m ready to buy NOW and I'd like to enlist the help of others who have found good Honda dealers to work with. I'm in the centra Florida area and find the Honda dealers here to be arrogant and unwilling to work with you. I'd like to find a good, honest dealer to deal with and see where their OTD pricing is. I have a very good offer on an '09 Corolla LE-auto ($17,960.00 OTD) and will go with that if I cannot find a Honda that is comparable in price. Unfortunately, I find that the Toyota dealers here are far more pleasant to work with and are willing to give you pricing the way you ask. I have contacted 12 Honda dealers and not one would give a complete out the door price. What's up with that??? So - please recommend a good dealer for me to see and I will be sure to mention your name, so you get a referral gift. BTW - the car I'm looking into is an '08 Civic LX Coupe with automatic - no other options. Thanks. RR in FL

I have been offered a 2006 EX - Automatic with navigation and 19k miles on the vehicle for $16k. I am located in southern CA....is this a good deal. OTD would costs about $17k. or should i go for a brand new LX ?? thanks for your input
