Replying to: fayk (Jul 02, 2008 7:43 am) made the mistake of telling him that I could get the car for $18,600 in Dallas with the tint, but I refuse to get the car here because of that and that you had gotten the car for $15, 987. (I will pay the TX state taxes here.) Help! Is this a good price? He said that Honda manufacturing is telling the dealerships that this is the best that they can do. He said that I can wait until late August and the price might drop when the 2009s come in, but there might not be any cars left. Any opinons on what I should do, please?

I emailed about 15 dealers asking for their best price including all the fees, taxes, etc. Some of the dealers didn't respond at all, I received quotes ranging from $17,184 to $18,430. I chose the dealer with the lowest combined fees, Babylon Honda. Bronx Honda also appeared to be a good deal but they didn't have silver in stock. Paramus Honda was also very attractive because they had pretty competitive prices and a number of benefits for internet customers such as free key replacement....HOWEVER, at the end of the day I went with the lowest price. Here's from my bill of sale from Babylon Honda: 17,269.00 LX AT Civic (includes destination charges) 1,273.59 Sales tax 130.00 NY Registration Fees 67.50 Document Fee/Waste Tire Fee 18740.09 TOTAL INCLUDING TAX Quite a bit of variance in dealer fees. The information below is correct to the best of my knowledge. In cases where the dealership didn't respond about NY DMV fees, I used the highest quoted fee of $228, so the actual fee may be less. Dealer State Emailed LX AT Price Destination Fee NY DMV Fee Fees Total W/Trunk Liner Combined Fees Paramus Honda NJ Yes $17,184 $0 $215 $199 $17,598 $17,718 $414 Babylon Honda NY Yes $17,269 $0 $228 $0 $17,497 $228 Bronx Honda NY Yes $17,500 $0 $0 $0 $17,500 $17,500 $0 Paul Miller Honda West Caldwell NJ Yes $17,519 $200 $199 $17,918 $399 Sussex Honda NJ Yes $17,734 $0 $228 c $17,962 $18,076 $228 Potamkin Honda NY Yes $17,760 $670 $228 ? $18,658 $898 Curry Honda Yorktown NY Yes $17,869 $228 included $18,097 $18,214 $228 Princeton Honda NJ Yes $18,395 $228 $197 $18,820 $18,928 $425 Hudson Honda NJ Yes $18,430 $228 $199 $18,857 $18,972 $427 Good Luck everyone!

A reporter from a large newspaper is looking to speak to consumers who traded-in a larger vehicle for a small compact car to save money on gas, but spent money on options to get something more comfortable and appealing. Replying to: kirstie_h (Jul 07, 2008 12:19 pm) also, i got quoted for 16,800 for a civic LX coupe. i was in a rush to get the car so i didn't have time to haggle too much. so i think that these prices should be pretty easy to get. good luck guys. |
