I received a quote yesterday from McGrath Honda in Elgin, IL for $20,416 (selling price only) which is $725 over invoice. Landmark Honda in VA has this advertised on Cragslist..   "WHY WAIT FOR MEMORIAL DAY WHEN YOU HAVE BEST SELECTION AND VALUE NOW?   2008 HONDA CIVIC LX SEDAN AUTO ----- $15,698.17 2008 HONDA CIVIC LX COUPE ----- $15,454.98"   Hmm...that may be worth the drive. Anyone know what the tax rate is in VA? Replying to: eddiehaskell1 (May 19, 2008 2:39 pm) Before you drive anywhere, make sure the prices quoted include the car, destination, and any dealer fees. A common dealer trick is to post a low price that excludes destination and/or fees. Then when someone shows up to buy at the price quoted they then add these on top and your sweet deal turns sour real quick.   In every state I know of you should be able to buy out of state and pay the tax and registration when you get back home. If you are planning on financing the taxes it get a little more complex, as you have to either have the dealer register the car or have them give you a check to pay the taxes yourself.   Dennis Replies to this message: eddiehaskell1 (May 19, 2008 4:01 pm)

Alfredo at Muller is who my son purchased his Civic EX-L Navi through back in October of '07.   Very nice dealership and a no-hassle transaction.   Even when factoring in the navigation cost, it looks like he paid slightly more than you, but in October, the Civic's had just come out, not to mention that EX-L Navi models are still fairly rare, and they were the only dealer in the area to have the color combination he wanted.   On the plus side, he got the 0.9% financing for 36 months and was given between fair and good value for his '01 Civic EX.
