08 Civic Sedan LX by bestdad4us

Reporting our purchase of a 2008 Civic 4DR LX sedan (AT) with Splash Guards installed for 17085.00 plus local tax (Ohio), etc., and got the 2.9% financing. We felt this might not have been the best deal possible, but a pretty good one, and we were short on time. We didn't get any internet quotes beforehand; maybe that would have yielded a better deal.

Drove 20 miles to Westbrook Honda in Westbrook, CT today to test drive Civics. Appointment was for 11am, got there a few minutes early.

My salesperson wasn't around, it took 10 minutes and asking 4-5 people before anyone could even find out where he was. I was then informed he was out on a test drive with another customer.

I sat around for 30 minutes and nothing. I got up and left. Maybe I was just being anal, but I have no patience for that kind of behavior. It sucks because they are the closest dealership to me, but Westbrook Honda just lost a potential customer.

When I lived up in Clinton for a short period, did visit the Westbrook dealership. The prices weren't great by any means, so just waited till I got back home to buy.

Dealerships do not honor draft checks for banks like Capital One. Reason being is because they don't get the money for 2 months while the car is being driven around. With excellent credit, you should be able to get 4.99% anyways.

If dealerships don't accept the blank checks, why does Capital One advertise them as such? And why do I read about people using them all the time?

NOVA Civic LX Auto Prices by hat7e

I've been visiting a few dealerships in the NOVA area.

So far I've negotiated with Bill Page:
16500 + TTL (destination included)

I just received an email from Hendrick Honda.
They advertised for a Honda Civic LX Auto (19 of them)
$15758 + destination + TTL
Actually this is a little higher than what he quoted me, $15742 two weeks ago.

What I hate is the processing fees, $299-399, in this area!

If anyone in the area is thinking about buying a civic, let me know and maybe we can arrange a group price!

I live in Wyoming and was quoted the following for an 08 Civic LX Sedan:

Invoice: 16,349.47
D&H: 635.00
Holdback: -355.20
Total Invoice: 16,629.27
Profit: 500.00
1/2 D&H 99.73
--------------------------------------
Total: 17,229.00
3.9% financing for 60 mo

From what I've read I think this sounds pretty fair but I haven't checked with any Colorado dealers yet. I might try to get some free all weather floor mats out of the deal at this price but has anybody heard about anyone doing 2.9% financing? I will be deciding today or tomorrow so any help would be great.
