I took a Honda Civic I want to buy to my mechanic for inspection. I have to admitted he did a good job to have a thorough check on that car. He also test drove the car with me. At the end he charged me $100. I was surprised by such a big amount just for an inspection. But I had no idea how much it should cost so I paid him anyway. So my question is, what is the reasonable price for an inspection? Did I pay top dollar? Thanks, Kenneth

Replying to: burdine (Feb 22, 2008 9:03 pm) did you not read my above post? I just bought a civic EX for $18,500, which included floor mats and wheel locks. I didn't opt for the extended warranty which is about a thousand. You would be paying the actual sticker price if you paid $21,150. btw, splash guards cost like $50.

Got quoted for a price of $16,140. Add tax and all the other good stuff would bring me at $17521 total. They also were willing to locate the car in black for me at no extra charge. I found the dealer great to work with, so far, they were straight forward and were the first to give me a price without me having to call them back or head into the dealership. I did try to get a little more wiggle room in the price though so I could use that money to buy some accesories from them, but that was a no-go. I can't complain, they beat the other dealer I was working with by like $300. Just pulled the trigger on the deal and hope to have the car in hand this weekend It's my first car and definitely excited. Also the whole internet buying experience was great. Made my life easier and helped cut through some of that dealership BS, and it saved me at least $300. My dad was more traditional and kept telling me that first dealer I went to had the best price and that I should do it then and there.
