Boch Honda in Norwood will give you the lowest price, provided that you are a strong negotiator and won't back down from your original offer; (I bought a new Civic EX sedan auto in July from them for $17700). Bernardi Honda in Natick, especially internet dept, is easier to work with, but will cost you at least several hundred more.

im not interested in getting you to think leasing is a good deal.

i am interested in finding out if the current lease i have been offered is good and if not what numbers i can change and make a counter offer.

Residual should be $11,588.85, I guess his numbers are for 15k leases (which is 61%) and so he shows that then adjusts it to your 12k lease and shows the right amount.

I think in another message you put that you live in PA, is that right? I think PA taxes on payment but at the whopping high rate of 9% or 10% depending on where in PA you live.

Since your payment includes tax, then it does not sound bad at all. Using 9% I get $17,360 for the net cap to get that payment.

$16,895 is the selling price, but $17,360 is the net cap which is a $495 difference. The bank fee is $595 with AHFC so that means $100 of the fee is due at signing. So if you paid 1st payment ($244), plus the $100 left over on the bank fee, plus the DMV fee of $118.50 you would total up at $426.50 and they said $500 due at signing. So I don't see where every penny goes, but it is really close.

Yeah... if that includes PA lease taxes, it looks like a pretty darn good deal...

Give it a rest, they didn't ask your opinion of leasing - they asked about specifics on this deal. If you want me to explain leasing to you and the advantages, I can.

OTD mean including taxes of your county
The best offers in Chicagoland Cook County so far based on this forum data is I believe $17,750 OTD ( All money you pay including taxes Dealer figure it out for you You don't care of what it is) for New 2008 Civic LX Sedan Automatic

OTD price is meaningless. I don't pay any taxes in my State so that doesn't count. I get a 20 day temp plate for free, as well as a free inspection sticker etc...
All that matters is what I paid for the car. That's the price. Anyone can add in the taxes later to figure out what they are.
Car + Dealers fees is what is OTD for me. I guess you can add in plate fees which will vary if you already have a car etc... Too many variables between States.
That's why I quote the price that I paid for the car + dealer fees only. My plate fee TTL isn't part of what I paid for the car but rather a part of owning a car.
