New 2008 Civic Si by tiff_c

We picked one up almost 2 weeks ago.
Price we paid was $20,999 OTD.
We have no sales tax and the dealer charges $399 for documentation and the like. They were really helpful and I still think it was a good price. Basically $500 over invoice plus their doc fees. I had to buy soon, so no choice there. My wife absolutely loves the car over anything else we looked at. We did beat the Edmunds TMV price, so we are happy about that and we are very happy with the Internet manager, that we dealt with.
I guess we could have nickeled and dimed them on the price a bit but they were light years ahead of the other dealership that was local to us.
I wanted an Accord but my wife didn't so we now have the Civic Si. Great car, good price, great dealership so far.
AutoFair Honda in Manchester, NH in case anyone wants to know.

Total OTD 19987

I'm satisfied that I got a good deal. I based my price on 7% off the total MSRP which I've used as a baseline in the past( I've bought or co-signed for 4 Civics in 8 years), and it's always been accepted.

Which dealership did you go to? I'm in the process with negotiation via email on 5 dealers. $16000 sounds great but I know most of the dealers in Chicago don't include destination or documentary charge in that figure. Which would be about $800 more. So it depends what they include in your price. I make sure they include dest charge and documentary charge in their quote. You also might have other small fees in comparison then the 9% tax then whatever it costs for your registration.
I'm looking outside the Chicago area as well and so far they can't make as good of offers to me and I'd still have to pay the Chicago tax.

It's very common for a dealer to give you very low price and bump up your interest rate.
Honda has a special financing on the 2008 Civic back in Dec 2007 (ended Jan 2nd 08)
the promotion was 4.9% for up to 60mo
I got a LX Auto for my friend for $18150 OTD (8.25% tax included) and his payment is around $342.00 $0 down for 60mos
However, i have to say that your deal is still a smoking deal... if you can pay off the loan now, you will end up paying less than my friend.
Good Job

I buy my cars in NH as I'm a Maine resident, but get screwed royally when I regester it in Maine .Type S out the door$ 23,650.00 w/Fogs and spoiler.I then paid $1,183.00 sales tax and Maine Excise tax of $486.00 add that up .
Also, couldn't deal with Clair Acura.I had to go to Rochester,NH to sunnyside Motors.
Same deal with BMW only double everything. Why go to Nh because, Maine has adopted CA emission laws and you get less HP.
Also Nh dealers will give you better deals. You are lucky.

Hi

We went into dealer and got a honda civic Si coupe for lease with 15K miles per year for $250 (Lisle, IL). For upfront fees we put down a honda civic LX 1999 with 102K miles. Was the deal good?

Thank you for all the good advice you are giving out it is very helpful.
