'08 Civix EX sedan - Dallas/Ft. Worth area by slisstudent

Bought a Civic EX sedan for 19,100. TTL, and other assorted fees were extra (roughly $1200).

I paid a bit more that I wanted. I figured the actual cost of the car was 18200 (invoice cost + destination - holdback). Figured $400 was fair price to pay for the dealer installed accessories (cargo tray, mudflaps, wheel locks, tint). Then figured 2% markup (roughly $360) of cost was fair profit. So my target price was $18,960.

Two factors influenced my decision in making the purchase:
  • my mother's car was in very poor mechanical condition -[ close to 200,000 miles; a/c stopped working this summer; need to pour water in radiator every 2-3 days (possible engine head problem); oil leaking into spark plug wells]

  • was taking advantage of the Texas Air Check program (rebate of $3000); needed to act fast before voucher expired and before state funding ran out (I saw one other trade-in that was marked Texas AirCheck)

The smile on my mom's face and the sense of knowing that she's in a safe and reliable car is priceless to me.

Just bought the last new 07 Civic on the dealer's lot. I took home a 2007 Rallye Red EX Coupe with 5-speed and Navigation. I paid $19,650 which included the vehicle and destination charge, plus mud guards, moonroof visor, trunk tray, and pin stripes. The dealer also threw in lifetime towing, though, I hope I never need it. I added the HondaCare bumper-to-bumper extended warranty, (6/120,000) which includes a free loaner for any overnight service and $0 deductible, for $1,055. OTD was $22,828, which included $1500 of taxes. Seems like I found a decent buy. I hope so, anyhow.

08 Civics for 1% over invoice + dealer fees? by dwynne

I was talking with a dealer I have purchased from and recommended in the past (in the Louisville, KY area) and he said they would do any Civic model (except the new leather models and the Si models) for 1% over invoice + their normal doc/notary/title sees - the total for all 3 is just under $500.

This would make the LX Sedan AT about $670 over invoice while the EX w/NAV AT (no leather) would be $702 over.

Decent prices? I would think my local "never heard of prices this low" dealers could not get close to them, but I have seen folks post lower prices here - but sometimes they involve a trade or purchased accessories.

slisstudent, do you mind telling me the dealer you used in the DFW area? Was it a good experience overall (not just price)? Thanks.

Kansas City, MO area $16,600 OTD (all fees including base price, delivery, etc... except sales tax).

I wish people would stop posting prices with taxes, etc... Nobody has the same tax, it just confuses people.

Invoice is $16,250 so you are at $350 over, sounds like a nice price to me. Enjoy your new Civic!

Civic LX Sedan AT for $16,782 by dwynne

Hennessy in Woodstock, GA quoted me $16,782 for an 08 Civic sedan LX AT. This includes their $389 prep fee. GA residents would pay additional registration and lemon law fees ($42 + $13???).

Invoice is $16,984 so this is $202 under including dealer fees.
