Over the past 3 days I've solicited quotes online from 16 dealers in the So Cal area and have only heard back from four. The lowest I've gotten is $70 over invoice on a Civic EX. I've read here that people are getting over $400 under invoice in other areas so I'm hesitant to pay over invoice. I'm in no big rush to get the car but of course it would be nice to have sooner than later. Any advice? Do I need to go in to dealers to show that I'm serious, then negotiate lower? Or has everyone just checked out after the year-end sales?

Just got a '07 Galaxy gray Coupe EX 5 speed manual for $16900 + TTL with 2.9% 36mo financng from Riverside, CA honda. Did I get a decent deal? Last 07 coupe on the dealers lot. Unfortunately the car was sitting there for so long int the back lot the battery was dead! Didn't care about resale value as I plan on putting in 30,000+ miles per year. ">

Got a great deal....just a day's after sending out emails for quotation. Worked with dealer that gave me lowest quote. Bot it on Jan 2, when Honda Financing deal was about to expire....got 2.9% APR plus dealer price plus destination of $16000 OTD in LA, CA 17500 It was not that difficult. Make sure you know what you want; go into dealer, and do not change for whatever reasons. Of course, dealer will try to confuse you by giving you alternatives. But then you lose control. Am a proud, happy Honda owner. I think my deal is one of the lowest on this web.

Replying to: ozzyny1 (Dec 28, 2007 3:43 pm) I'm in upstate NY as well, Binghamton, and am interested in what dealers you worked with and which one you ended up with and how you got your great price. I'm looking for an LX Manual Transmission. I've just started looking and have one initial email quote for 16,400 from a Syracuse dealer. Any info would be a big help. Thanks, Scott |

Bought my '06 LX sedan AT from Maroone in Hollywood back in June of '06for about $17,000. but also had that dealer fee which they refused to negotiate on. Hear that Rick Case is even higher and don't even go near Coral Springs!! Nice car so ended up just paying the fees, as another Sentra or Corolla were ot of the question and the Elantra just didn't appeal to me. Now my oldest girl wants an Elantra...go figure. Wife already drives a Mazda 3s With 12k on the odo now, can honestly say that I still love the car and am pleased with this decision and hopefully will keep it into retirement which will be anytime between 1/11 and 11/15 at this point. Am the primary driver on the car so should make it easily. Great car! The Sandman |
