My dad called my dealer back home (Charlotte, NC) and they said they would sell me the car for $17,000. My dad then called a dealer in DeLand, FL and Daytona Beach. Both said they would do the deal for $17,000 (note: including my trade) We put them to the test and went to both dealerships and said that there was NO WAY that the dealer that I got the car from would do it for $17,350 and immediately shook our hands and sarcastically wished us luck.   I don't know, sometimes I just think that $20k for a Civic is a lot, but this is my 4th car and I have never been so proud/happy of another car! And I did get it pretty close to invoice once you add in the price for the extras added to the car. I'm getting jealous of seeing all these deals on the LX but I honestly thought that the seats in the EX and LX were too hard and so I decided to spend the extra little bit. I love it, but I am still curious to see what others are paying

I thought my deal was fairly decent, but now I am feeling a little low about it. After purchasing, today I got another online offer that was $100 lower than I paid. But my deal was at least lower than two other offers I received.   18,303+ 549.12tax, 74 title, 398 doc fee (non negotiable) 19, 325 total It is a great car and fun to drive so I need to be kind to myself about it!

Replying to: wooder (Jan 02, 2008 12:16 pm) From my research on the cars, the sedan is about 200 dollars more then the coupe. I was also considering the sedan but ended up going with the coupe. See what he can do for you, hes a good guy, I was a little afraid because I life far from the dealership, but he was even nicer in person then on the phone so it all worked out! Let me know how it goes.

Replying to: twl (Jan 02, 2008 3:33 pm) There are many dealerships that are saying over invoice in the Houston area, if you really negotiate (especially online) you will be able to get atleast 150-200 below invoice. The new dealership in is called Honda Cars of Katy, its off of Fry Road and I-10.   Its a brand new dealership, so its looking for customers. The person I talked too was Treon Simmons. Hes a floor manager there, very nice guy, both on the phone and in person as well. I got a great deal because it was the end of the month, and year, but talk to him and see what he says. Tell him Mohammed sent you, that may help out

Over the past 3 days I've solicited quotes online from 16 dealers in the So Cal area and have only heard back from four. The lowest I've gotten is $70 over invoice on a Civic EX. I've read here that people are getting over $400 under invoice in other areas so I'm hesitant to pay over invoice. I'm in no big rush to get the car but of course it would be nice to have sooner than later.   Any advice? Do I need to go in to dealers to show that I'm serious, then negotiate lower?
