Man! What is wrong with these dealers here? Tried to email 8-10 dealers for several weeks now, with only gratuitous replies (courtesy replies consisting of high end offers for the LX; which I got a better price in person at the first of the month). The very best that I could do was $17,150 and $17,200 +ttl in person. These guys would not budge off the price. They admitted that the Civic would sell for $17760 invoice or whatever the MSRP came to ($18,xxx) at any dealer in the country; but refused to admit that it could be sold for $16,200-$16,300 here. They claim that where these prices were, there must be Honda dealers at every corner where these cars were sold at. I just think that they're too greedy here. I see many Toyota Corollas on the road here and not too many Civics (quite a few Accords though), I did see where they sold a Honda Civic A/T LX Coupe for $17,000 +ttl the other day and the salesman said the customer haggled hard. I actually offered $17,000 +ttl and they said that they couldn't do it. Any ideas on how to get a better price? I walked away tonight also. |

Is there a particular site that others have used to get on line quotes for cars?I am interested in my own area and surrounding areas. I have never done this before and am not sure how to go about it. How do you correspond with the dealerships?- via email or via the phone? I have noticed on this forum that many people have purchased in this way, and due to time I now need to go this route if it is worthwhile. thanks! |

Hi - I'm from the San Francisco Bay Area and I was offered a quote of $16750 for a new 2008 Civic LX Sedan Auto. Is this a good deal? Or should I push for something lower? Thanks!

Replying to: kale102 (Dec 29, 2007 4:15 pm) The base price was 15,688. Throw in a 8/120 Honda Care Warranty, CilaJet (cilajet.com) exterior/interior protection and GAP coverage. My total out of door price amount was 19,175. I also put 500 down.
