Replying to: leftylibralady (Apr 12, 2007 11:19 am) In my case, the best initial quote I got (slightly below invoice) was from a dealer 50 miles away. A closer dealer said in their quote that they would try to beat any offer by $200, so I forwarded it to them and they did. Plus, they had the color I wanted so I went there. YMMV. Good luck, Josh

Here’s what I paid today in Cincinnati (zip 45241) for a silver Civic EX 4-door, Automatic (no navigation): Selling price: $18,750 Options: $0 (none) Documentary Fees: $250 SUBTOTAL: $19,000 Sales tax (6.5%): $1,235 Transfer plate: $0 Title fee: $15 Full tank of gas: no charge TOTAL: $20,250 Footnotes: 1. This is about 5% less than what Edmunds says “others are paying”, but frankly I’m not sure how accurate Edmunds numbers are. Seems most posts here are about 5% less than “what others are paying”, regardless of make or model. 2. “Documentary fees” are junk fees used to pad dealer profit. I was prepared for it when we negotiated $19K, just beware if it exists and if so, how much they plan to pile on.

| Seems to me this model is going for right around $20,000 no matter where you get it. Difference is state TTL. | |

It seems that timing plays a big factor in getting a great deal in the LX model at least. With the car being in it's 2nd year now, I knew the prices would come down to invoice and below levels. It'll be interesting to see what happens once the new Corolla debuts in a few months. Eventhough the mileage stinks, the Lancer is a very cool looking car and I think that'll help it sell despite it's dismanl mpg's. The Sandman |
