Just the facts; IMHO this forum would be easier if people left off all the OTD price. Maybe we could have a forum for TTL and discuss how we saved $123 because I live in Glendale while you had to pay more because you live in Texarkana . However, some here feel that the OTD price is important/relevant for some reason. Do people come here and lie about what they paid, my guess is yes they do. Not all, some I would say do, maybe only a few but no one wants to appear the fool. Both Edmunds (hey you're here) and Kelly's Blue Book post INVOICE Price it may not be 100% but it's pretty close (no dealer hold back information) but anyone who got to this forum, clearly can find Edmunds Invoice price for the Specific Make, Model and Trim Level you want Sure you can get some tips here. My advise, make your deal on the Internet first worked for me and might help others. It is not for everyone but again everyone and every situation is different. For me 5 days before I bought my car I had not even considered the fact that I was going to buy a car. I kind of found this forum by accident while checking Invoice prices on Edmunds, then reading the "Tips & Advise" section "Confessions of a Car Salesman" is great so if you got time on your purchase, relax read the stuff, most of the stuff in the forum is true, besides everybody knows the best days to buy are January 27th or February 26th (about, they say Friday is the best day) it's cold, everyone got the Christmas Bills the dealers commissions probably don't look too hot. That's old news now (Spring Time buyer; a point to the dealer "cause there are MORE buyers now) so do your research, look up the most recent Invoice price, if you are really ready to buy send an Email to every Honda Dealer you are willing to drive to for a "bottom line" price. Play hardball, either ask the closest dealer to you (if that is important to you) if he will match it or if you just want the best deal see who will beat it. Myself, I would really cut some slack to the original low offer, after all. However, for me someone else is willing to beat that by more than $150 it really was not the best. Honest, good luck-

I got my Civic LX Auto Coupe and I like it alot!

Only One Honda Dealer by leftylibralady

Hi,

I plan on buying my Civic LX coupe on Mon but unlike a lot of others, there's only ONE Honda dealership in my city (Wichita,KS).

Do I have any deal wiggle room here or am I pretty much stuck with whatever price the dealer slaps on the windshield?

Depends -- are you willing to go 50-100 miles if necessary to save a few hundred or thousand dollars? If so, from honda.com it looks like there are 6 dealers within 100 miles of Wichita -- email them (either via Edmunds or directly on their websites) and get price quotes. Take the best price you get and ask your local dealer if they can match; if not take a nice afternoon drive! The more willing you are to buy somewhere else, the better deal you'll get. You can always take the car to your local dealer for service/warranty work.

In my case, the best initial quote I got (slightly below invoice) was from a dealer 50 miles away. A closer dealer said in their quote that they would try to beat any offer by $200, so I forwarded it to them and they did. Plus, they had the color I wanted so I went there. YMMV.

Good luck,

Josh

Well could be? Hard to tell since there are a few things you did not mention. However, I saved you the time by looking 'em up (I used Kelly's today)

LX Sedan Stick
Invoice 16,210
MSRP 17,555
Average 17,204

LX Sedan Auto
Invoice 16,944
MSRP 18,355
Average 17,988

LX Coupe Stick
Invoice 16,027
MSRP 17,355
Average 17,008

LX Coupe Auto
Invoice 16,761
MSRP 18,155
Average 17,792

These are the number I see on Kelly's on Friday the 13th but I do suggest everyone do a tad of research and look up a "few" things for yourself

Here’s what I paid today in Cincinnati (zip 45241) for a silver Civic EX 4-door, Automatic (no navigation):

Selling price: $18,750
Options: $0 (none)
Documentary Fees: $250
    SUBTOTAL: $19,000

Sales tax (6.5%): $1,235
Transfer plate: $0
Title fee: $15
Full tank of gas: no charge

    TOTAL: $20,250

Footnotes:
1. This is about 5% less than what Edmunds says “others are paying”, but frankly I’m not sure how accurate Edmunds numbers are. Seems most posts here are about 5% less than “what others are paying”, regardless of make or model.

2. “Documentary fees” are junk fees used to pad dealer profit. I was prepared for it when we negotiated $19K, just beware if it exists and if so, how much they plan to pile on.

Well Annnnnnnn

Looks to be $200 UNDER Invoice which "seems" to be very good to me. Seems to be common for others but I sure did not get any under Invoice offers but it comes down to supply and demand. I really like the car. You done good IMHO

Seems to me this model is going for right around $20,000 no matter where you get it. Difference is state TTL.
