Just took delivery of alabaster silver EX sedan auto. I had three dealerships in the Boston area competing and each quoted similar prices (within $200). Due to the flooding in the area, sales have been down this past week and dealers are willing to negotiate to make a sale. I ended up going with the dealer closest to my home for convenience. Here's the deal: Price: $18,164 Doc. Fee: $279 Lojack w/lifetime warranty: $495 Title and License: $65 Taxes: 5% on price minus trade. I traded in a 2001 subaru with high miles. They gave me just above KBB trade value for "average" rating. Overall very pleased with the deal. Lastly, I just purchased a Honda Care 7yr/120k/$0 dect. extended warranty through www.myhondawarranty.com (Saccucci Honda) for $850 on a 12-month interest free payment plan ($85 up front, $63 monthly charged to CC/debit card for 12 months). My dealer was willing to match the price but wouldn't do the interest free payment plan. Figured out it would cost another $125 in interest over the life of the 5year loan if added to the loan, so opted not to do it through the dealer (hey, its money, right!). This will be my third Honda (haven't owned one in about 5 years though) and I'm happy to be back! Comments on the deal? |

| Hi there, as I take it, Civics are in high demand. Based on what you have seen, would asking MSRP for a Civic Si be unreasonable or to be expected? | |

Just paid 16,800 for my honda civic lx automatic sedan including destination (50 dollar document fee). This was for a sedan that the dealership traded with another dealer to get us the color we wanted (galaxy grey) - - they were willing to sell the red civic lx auto on the lot for 16,600 including destination. Anyway, highly recommend Brilliance Honda in Crystal Lake, Illinois. They were far cheaper than the dealers closer in to Chicago, absolutely pleasant - - rushed the trade through when our old car unexpectedly died yesterday, and let us put 7,500 on our credit card for airline miles. Thanks to everyone here for their advice. We were about to give up and wait for the 2007s when we found Brilliance Honda . . . |

Replying to: downnshift (May 21, 2006 8:09 am) Those DFW dealers are really a sorry lot. In May of 05 when we where looking to purchase our Accord we shoped, Tulsa, OKC, Fort Smith, And NW Arkansas. The North Tx. Dealers where awful. Just looking at there emails made one feel violated. I had given up on a Honda due to the horid priceing and game playing that Honda seems to let there dealers do. Then I found a dealer in Bartlesville, Ok. What a breath of freash air. Ended up with $300 under invoice on the Accord. So when the time came I spot shoped for the Civic. Sure enough the same game played even worse for the Civic. MSRP plus market adjustment, and there usual host of adders. Called my dealer. $416 above invoice for my Civic Sedan EX 5MT w/Navi. Nothing added to inflate the price. This was the weekend before Xmas. I stoped into a local Tulsa dealer to look at FIT. I have a daughter intrested in a new car. You guessed it MSRP plus anything else they can get out of you. When they asked me why I was so negitive about there pricing and stated they know I paided atleast MSRP for my Civic I showed them the sales contract. They just mumbled and studdered. Plus they had never seen a 5MT Sedan with Navi. You really have to watch these Honda dealers. As much as I like our Civic and Accord. The cars are not worth the over all bad buying experiance most people have and they sure arent worth the ubber high prices they try to get. In that same vein. I really like some of the Toyotas. But Ive been so miss treated and so BS'ed on Yota lots I will never step foot on one again. This last spree of car buying ended up to be a good one. Only because I found the only honest, no games, no BS dealer in the south central US. I truley hope I dont have to purchase a car for atleast 7 years if not 10 years. Once again the North Tx. dealers proved to me. Ive left nothing in Texas that I need to go back for. Good luck psy |

Is the Civic comparable to the new toyota yaris? If so, then the yaris is the same price as the base civic... with all of the accesories and options!... Is Toyota beating honda in the small car market? ~please respond with your thoughts
