Actually, that is a 10.78% deal for the dealership, which is too much in my opinion. And, I know you know, the dealership does not actually pay the 17036 cost for that car but, rather, finances it at about $170 per month. So yes, it's a hell of a good deal for the salesman and dealership and a poor deal for the customer. A more reasonable, win-win deal, would be a counter-offer of cost + 7% or about $18,230.

Hey settle down...even if it is a 4% profit you still doing pretty good. It is not like the dealership manufactured the car. Also don't get too puffed up and pridefull, Hondas sell themselves!

Peace!

I think you need to redo your math.

It's 4%. Doesn't sound like a gouging in the least, especially considering the market reaction to the product. You want a bargain that slices the dealer's bread and butter paper thin? Fine, go look at a Mitsu Eclipse!

Signed paperwork constitutes a deal.

It's an easy mantra. Anybody transcending yet?

Settled for an Accord..... by hybrid93hatch

For the past month I have been trying to find a good deal on a 06 EX sedan w/navigation. After no luck I decided to ask for an OTD price for an 06 Accord LX sedan (auto). The dealer gave me a price I could not pass up: $20,532 OTD!! The dealer is about 75 miles from me so I decided to visit a local dealer to test drive both Accord and Civic to make sure I wanted the Accord.

After driving both there was no comparison in ride quality. I still enjoy the Civic's exterior much more (especially the front end), the 2 tier gauge cluster is awesome, but the comfort in the Accord, space, black interior, PRICE sold me! Long story short, the local dealership ended up beating the OTD price by $200 and now the Accord is in my garage

So, $20,332 OTD for an 06 Accord LX sedan (auto)

My friend, you won't be buying a Civic. Just let that one go and go to another brand. You turn it down and there are a thousand people standing in line to take your place. In some places they are going for MSRP plus. I felt lucky to get a $500 discount off list in my area.

Honda Civic Salvage by mahiri

Hello,
I am debating whether to go look at a Honda Civic Ex 03 with a Salvage Title. The owners says it runs, fine and is completelyl fixed, but had it fixed at a body shop not a dealer. He is charging 7800 which I assume is negotiable. Is it even worth going to test drive this car? Thx.
