I am 6 foot and 180 lbs, and Civic is the best small car out there for my size. Yes, accord is bigger, but, I happen to like the small car feel. You know what they say about men who drive large vehicles...
I think the 1998 accord has decent acceleration, and sunroof will diminish your headroom.

The best civic for guys like us is the new Si. This is the only Civic I am able to sit up straight, without the 45° angle in the seatback to clear the roof line.
And by the way, I was able to load up a 27 inch TV in the box into the hatch with no problems, plus I still had my junk in there as well.

Just purchased a Civic DX at Bernardi Honda in Natick MA. The experience was reasonable and efficient. The price was $12650 exclusive of tax and title and the only option was a CD player.

I got a special quote from Honda East in Columbus OH for $14,799 + tax & fees. At this time of the year, what do you think of this quote? I'm supposed to give the Internet Manager a call later today. Do you think it's too much for me to ask him that for quote he gave me it should include mud/splash guard, cargo tray, door edge guard, and fenderwell trim? I was tempted to ask the Convenience Package to be included but I was wondering if I stretch it too far and lose the deal, which honestly is much better than what a local dealer here in this small town where I live gave me couple days ago.

New 2004 Civic EX auto w/side airbags, black
paid 16273 +TTL = 17500.
Carsdirect price wwas 16650.

I'm presuming this was a good deal. Can you guys confirm?

Also, when I got the car, there was 80 miles on it, even though the paperwork said 15. Should I be concerned about this? I think its from dealerships swapping the car back and forth. It drives great. Gas peddle is a little loose and sunroof rubber seal sticks up a bit in the front, both of which the dealership says is a quick fix.

I dont think this is a good deal at all. we bought the exact same car in April for 14,000 plus tax and license. This price was readily available from two out of four dealers I shopped in Arizona.

Thanks, this gives me real information. I was this close to buying the same car at end of July for 15,300 + Tax + tags (written price quote -- including destination charges & fees)in metro NY -- so I know I can probably get $15,000 now.

Thanks.

Thanks, I thought so too but was just afraid to lose a deal which already $300 cheaper than what a local dealer here quoted me. In that case, if he's still insists on the quote do you think I should just ask him to throw in the Convenience Package, security system, and engine block heater or no deal at all? The tax is pretty high already here (7.25%) so even if I don't get those accessories installed, I'd be happy to be able to go down to $14K because the total is within the range I'm willing to pay. Is there anybody in this forum from Columbus OH with similar buying experience from Honda East or any other dealers?

I was quoted $15,300 on this car (including destination charges) + TTL. After looking through what other people have paid, it doesn't seem out of line to ask for $14,500. But I've never bought a car before... is this too big a jump? What do you think a realistic price is to ask for?

A reporter is looking for consumers who have traded in a paid-off older vehicle for a new(er) one. Did you trade in because of repair costs, or worries about reliability or safety? Was the peace of mind worth the cost (payments, depreciation)?
