#10104 of 10741 2012 Honda Civic LX
Oct 22, 2011 (7:25 am)
The Honda Salesman that was dealing with us told his that the tsunami and its aftermath in Japan has really slowed down production of 2012 Honda Civics. Considering that, I'd like to think my price was a bit inflated. The salesman showed us an invoice of $17,771 for a 2012 Honda Civic LX after destination charge and they gave it to me for $17,971 and free window tint. I'd say it wasn't a bad deal because we got pretty much the same quote for a 2011 Toyota Corolla LE and there were NO other Honda Civic LXs available in our area.
I've had the car for one day and I love it so far, especially the Rallye Red Color.

Well... if it has slowed it down, it won't last long...
Honda just doubled their headcount and added a full second shift to the new plant that builds Civics in Indiana..

Wow, that almost sounds too good to be true. Dealer cost is $17,769 after destination/add fees and subtracting holdback (according to true car) for a 2012 4 dr lx aut sedan. Add taxes 6.25%, doc fees, and registr. on top of that. Wondering if I am missing something with my calculation.

The OTD price was $22,636. This price included PA sales tax and all fees. Deal or No Deal?

OTD prices are useless, unless you're comparing with someone else that lives in your county/state. Tax, title, license, and maximum doc fees vary widely from state to state and county to county. Someone living in one state can't compare their OTD price with someone living in another state, unless you break down the price into base cost (w/ destination charge) + tax + title + license + any misc. dealer fees.

It's diffficult to say w/o knowledge of the Aftermarket adds and your tax , fees breakdown.
I'm in Houston and received a quote yesterday from a dealer in Dallas for a 2012 EX of $20,052 or 450. over invoice. At 6.25% tax w/fees of 250-would be 21,555 OTD. If your A/M equipment is worth the additional 1100. to you then go for it
Civic production is just picking up- We have several large dealers in our Metro area and most have very few Civics. If you can get invoice or under would consider it a good deal at this time.
If you can wait- Do it. Pricing will get better in next couple of months.
I was also given an offer of 2012 SE Accord for 20,969 or 1500 under invoice. Much improved inventories....

Couldn't agree with you more. Base price is what everyone should be discussing. Should also note that destination is included- unavoidable for all of us.
Anyone can then add TTL and local fees to get the OTD price for their region.

Dealer in houston offered me this price
car -> 21400 (21900 - 500 dealer discount)
dealer installed pro pack -> 300
TTL + Dealer fees -> 1700
Total comes to $23400. Is this a good price ??? or should i wait another month ?
