Replying to: postoak (Feb 11, 2005 10:35 am) I'm not sure I have seen the Pewter on the road in the 2005 model. I agree that silver is very common, but it looks really good. I'm heading to the dealership tomorrow to look at colors and decide finally on which one. I hope they have a pewter. |

Well, $4,000 below MSRP isn't just "pretty good". Without factory incentives it's a great deal. I've just started my negotiations but so far I haven't found anyone willing to sell AT invoice, much less, below it.

Replying to: postoak (Feb 12, 2005 4:40 pm) Where are you located? I'm in northern VA. You could always buy from around here and then ship it. I ordered my car because the only other car they could find with my options was in Florida. I actually asked why the price was so low... and the response was that it was where I lived, Fairfax County. Fairfax County is in the top 10 for household income across the country. The salesperson stated that the manager 'bought' my business. Let me know if you want specifics around salespeople and email me Lee |

| lccalvert -- I'm in the Houston area. We actually get a lot of transferees from Fairfax, Virginia (is that in Fairfax County?) who work for Exxon-Mobil (and probably send our share over there, too). Unfortunately, I have a trade-in, so that complicates things. If I can't get the price I want, I'll probably just wait until some factory-to-dealer cash is placed on the C-Class. | |

Tell me if you guys think this is a reasonable deal or way too high???? 2005 C230K Sport Sedan : Power Front Seats Automatic Transmission 6 CD changer Sunroof Lighting Package Color: Opal Black Quote price: $31,700 (NOT including tax and license) Thanks for any valuable response : )

It seems like a very good price. MSRP on that vehicle is $35,640 and invoice (not including any advertising fee) is $33,198. So, the offered deal is $3940 below MSRP and $1498 below invoice. carsdirect's target price is $35,148 -- is carsdirect a joke now, or what? I would take that deal.

|
| No, I never contacted them. It just seems too difficult to operate sight-unseen, etc. like this. I'm sticking with dealers that I can drive to and actually see the car before I purchase. | |
