Hi all, I have an 88 v6 with automatic tranny. I want to tow this behind my older Winnebago. The Rv is not my question. the question is can I simply install a tow bar on the 4Runner, or do I need a dolly, or do I need ? ?

thanks in advance to all for your anticipated good thoughts.

Your owners manual should be able to give you the answer to that. I would think that you shouldn't tow your automatic 4Runner with the rear wheels on the ground. I guess you could disconnect the drive shaft and then be able to tow it 4 wheels down in 2wheel drive.

I know this is a really old post but I'm having the same problems you mentioned you had before and I was wondering what the solution was.

My car is running lean but getting really bad gas mileage. I too have been averaging about 13 mpg when I hear that 17-18 is typical and up to 24 mpg is possible on the highway in the V6.

By bro seems to think it could be the fuel pump or something related but the thing was still working well when we change the fuel fileter. It may be weak, however/

Any advice woyuld be appreciated.

Thanks,
Jason

"I made a post in the other Toyota forum #56 and I have since found the problem to be a faulty wire in the fuel pump wire harness under the passenger seat.

The truck I have is a SR5 1987 4x4 2.4L 8 valve 5 speed. It has a new problem now, the truck runs ok and then it shuts off as the engine light comes on. I am in the process of changing the air flow sensor and hope that this is the problem. The truck has 205,000 km.

Are there any of you who have had to change air flow sensors?

What kind of mileage are you getting with these old trucks. I am getting only about 13 mpg highway, I am not sure if this is normal or low because of the problem described above"
