Congrats on your new purchase. I know you are proud of your accomplishment and getting such a great car. Don't have too many regrets about not getting the sun roof. I am close to 50, and just purchased my SF with sun roof last week. I have always wanted one, but it just never worked out until now. You will have something to look forward to when you make your next purchase. I hope you enjoy your SF as much as I do.

If it's any consolation, a sunroof can be added later. Get a referral from you dealer's service department. Runs about $750. Aftermarket sunroofs are more prone to leaks and wind noise but it's a solution. A reputable installer will make sure that you are satisfied. Congrats on your purchase. Now, if only gas doesn't go to $5, we can all enjoy our SFs.

FWD Limited in Michigan by proudnewdad

Not many posts from people in Michigan. Signed papers Saturday for a FWD Limited in Natural khaki for 24,500 OTD. MSRP was 27,000. Got the 1000 rebate plus 750 plus 500 military. Live in Lansing but bought in Grand Rapids at Fox - much better selection. Thanks to you all, it was actually fun.

I'll be more specific about my above post. 2007 FWD Limited with XM with no options but cargo tray and floor mats 24,500 OTD. Just as a note, I have not seen a single 2007 Santa Fe in the Lansing MI area, and I've been looking since Nov. But this is a big GM town - hope my car does not get keyed!!

You can always get a power sunroof/moonroof added to your SF if you so chose. I have done that on a couple of SUV's and they are warranted for life, and look as good as a factory SR. Down side is it costs about 1200, but if you get the dealer to do it for you at their cost, it is usually around 900. Good luck.

be carefull about adding an aftermarket sunroof, as it could void your warranty.

LOL - thanks, mpalacol...

I'm okay without the sunroof thus far - and I'm with you..I have to resist the urge to hug the car every time I see it...and truly, it was a GREAT car buying experience.

Re: the BBB, I highly recommend it (at least in Chicago). The reports are pretty detailed (type of complaints, whether they get resolved, not, etc.); and as a single woman buying the car, it just felt like knowledge was power...

Thanks to all who posted their price

I got it for roughly $25,650 after 1,750 rebate. With Tax(7% OR 1911) + Doc Fees (289) + Title (364) + Tire Tax (7.50) I paid a total of 28,121. It was Sansone. Hope it helps others.

March Auto Sales: Hyundai
Associated Press 04.03.07, 2:29 PM ET

Hyundai Motor America said Tuesday U.S. auto sales edged up slightly last month as demand for its Elantra sedan and Santa Fe sport utility vehicle offset declining sales of other models.

March sales volume totaled 41,984 vehicles, up half a percent from 41,766 a year earlier.

Hyundai posted a 7 percent increase in sales of its Elantra sedan to 10,343. Santa Fe sport utility vehicle sales roughly doubled to 8,470, while the car maker's Accent hatchback saw volume surge 57 percent to 3,427.

Sales of its Sonata sedan plummeted 39.5 percent to 10,584, while weaker Tucson SUV and Azera sedan sales also offset the gains.

Adjusting for an additional day of sales last month, volume fell 3.1 percent year over year.

So far this year, sales volume has slipped 1.7 percent to 104,205 vehicles. Adjusting to account for two additional sales days in the recent period, sales have fallen 4.2 percent.

Supply issues still exist on the Elantra and Accent model.

Sonata has leveled to around 10K units/month and should stay there, with the fleet program ended last November.

Azera is off by 6 units from March 2006. There is an actual gain, since figures from 2006 included XG sales.

Tuscon needs a facelift period.
