Hello & Congrats Gypsydog, on your ‘03 Artic Blue (nice new color )SF 3.5l LX w/roof and you should be very proud for a top shelf SUV for an excellent price of $20.2k My 3 questions is your SF AWD? Was the optional sunroof a Freebe? And where is the dealership regional area (no salesperson name pls. just town, state area) I would like to get a ’03 Hyundai Santa Fe 3.5l LX AWD before the cold /snow season of 2003 ending year. I’ll be surfing through auto-fleets /dealerships websites sometime in Sept ’03 that can offer me an excellent below invoice $price.
Drive Happy & Wise (0v0).
Thx.

Brian125,
I did go through the "Internet Dept" and to be honest it was very easy, it took about 10 emails back and forth and one phone call. Looking at the Edmunds Invoice price I paid $300 under invoice before rebate, they charged me $98 Reg / Title, $18 credit and $190 documentation fee. I hope this helps

noddy, if my numbers are correct your model santa fe's invoice is about $23,330.. how in the world did you get maxon to sell you that vehicle for 300 dollars less than what they pay the manufactor ?..

The invoice isn't necessarily the ultimate price that the dealer paid for the car. There's holdback for starters, in addition to various incentive payments like dealer cash plus spiffs that consumers never learn of.

Rest assured that the dealer is still making money when a car sells for below invoice.

Brian,
I’m not going to pretend I know how it all works all I can tell you is that I paid $23,000 ($22,000 after rebate) plus they charged me $98.50 Reg / Title, $18 credit , $190 documentation fee, and sales tax on top. I happy I got a good deal and I have no need / gain to lie to you , I figured it had something to do with the new models coming out

Demo Cars by jaybab

Hi All,
I've been negotiating with a Dealer on a 03 LX 2WD, Sandstone with dealer installed sunroof for 21,700. I have just learned that the owner of the dealership's wife, drives it as a demo...and it has 6,000 miles on it. The saleman said that they calculate $0.18 per mile, which doesn't sound right....

Can I negotiate a longer warranty? More money off? Any recommendations????

The factory warranty should start the day you drive the demo off the lot; that's the way it works with most cars.

Demo price formulas are all over the map. Dealers always seem too proud of their demo vehicles and don't seem to consider them used cars since they've never been titled.

No telling who else drove it (and how) besides the owner's spouse either.

Try searching for "demo" in Any Questions for a Car Dealer? or Real-World Trade-In Values.

Somebody is going to buy it - may as well be you
