Bought a 2007 SE in Chicago - Good Price? by chu1

Bought a 2007 SE with no packages, 2WD in Chicago today. Did an e-mail inquiry to all the dealerships in the area. Best offer was invoice $21,990 plus destination of $650, so $22,640. Kept that in mind and went to the nearest dealership to test drive.

They had a base SE in stock in the right color. Told them my best offer and they came back with $22,300 (destination included), wouldn't go any lower. I accepted so it looks like I got it for $340 under invoice. Maybe I could have gotten a better price after looking around more, but I'm pretty happy with it.

Just wanted to know what everyone else thought of my deal. I just wanted to thank everyone on the forum helping out others with their car searches. It helped me a lot in figuring out how to get a fair price.

Costco Buying Program by sirvagabond

Anyone familiar with how good of price you can get with the Costco Buying Program? Not sure if Costco's are outside of California or not, but it's a wholesale business, bulk food and living items in giant wharehouses for unbelievable deals. And they supposedly have fantastic deals on autos, too. Anywhere from 2-3k blow invoice on AVERAGE. This sounds too good to be true. Anyone from Cali familiar with this?

Is it true Hyundai will only lease for max 30 months? I had a great price negotiated at Roseville Hyundai last night, but they wouldn't budge on the term for a lease.

Checked the Cosco price in Richmond VA for Limited AWD...nearly $800 more than the internet price from the same dealership...NOT under dealer invoice

Some dealers in the greater Seattle area are $500 over invoice. You MUST get the Costco sales person at the dealership or they will price the outfit at normal prices.

If the dealer will not accept the coupon, get the incentive issued from HQ; so long as you get a great deal and the incentive money.

On a side note, how did you go about getting the certificate? I went to a similar event, but all they handed to me after the test drive was a picture frame.

We paid $30,074 (OTD including all fees... tax, tags, destination, dealer prep, etc.) for a Platinum Sage (beige interior) AWD Limited w/ Premium & Touring Pkgs from Global Auto Mall on Route 22 in North Plainfield, NJ. I'm pretty happy with the price considering the sales tax in NJ is 7%, plus registration & tags on a new vehicle in NJ costs $352 (the good news though is that the car doesn't need to be inspected/registered again until 2010).

I went through Sam's Club Auto program and paid $400 below invoice on all models. I paid close to $25,000 for my 07 Santa Fe Limited 2WD with sunroof. The Azera was only a $500 more. All incentives still applied which is why the Azera was so close in price with the 07 Santa Fe which didn't have any.
