Jim, bummer man. Kinda poor CS for your salesrep NOT want to look for another car for you. Out here in Southern Cal, dealers jump at that opportunity. Perhaps cause there's so many dealerships packed into these cities to go to. They just wanna move out cars. Good luck to you finding one though. It may just be worth a road trip to another city!?

Just got word that my color combo's in the LMT AWD, will not be in production for at least another 8-12 weeks. Whatta downer. Thought I was gonna have some new wheels come Xmas. But if I drop some 30k on a car, I want my colors! Oh well, I've waited close to 5 years for a new ride, another 3 months won't kill me. Just hope it don't kill my current !

Jim, I'm from Albuq, too. The sales customer service here was not what I expected! 2 salesmen from Larry Miller Hyundai came running up to us (this was about 2 mos ago) screaming that they had sold 18 Santa Fe's that day---it was very amusing. At Southwest Hyundai I'm sure they knew how interested we are but they haven't followed up with us at all--and I do want the 3nd row seat. They haven't had the color combo I want either! Looked at the website of the Hyundai dealership in Cruces (I think it's a big auto mall) and they seem to have a larger selection.

Very strange sales tactics here in Alb!!!

5 years for a new ride? Try 12!!!! I so totally deserve a new car--and the color combo you want black w beige is exactly what I want! I saw this color combo on a lower model and it looked hot! I don't know if I cam wait 3 more monthes! December was such a strech for me. My brakes are going out--it's getting cold here so who knows how long my rebuilt transmission will hold up---Yikes! I'm totally bummed! This is crazy! I can't believe I'm so attached to a Hyundai no less! Should I rethink my car choice?

Indeed. With my car gone, I have cash in hand - no trade, no financing - the perfect customer. I'm about to start checking with dealers in other cities. I'm on the East side by the way, trying to get Southwest Hyundai to take my money. I did a quick drive over to Larry Miller but they didn't have but two or three Limiteds.

12years lulu!?!?!? oh man. You can have cuts......
yeah, black and beige I think is a classy combo. Just not a huge fan of the Black. Have to keep it up, shows blemishes, dirt, etc. and has a tendency to oxydize quickly. I live on the coast too. But that combo with the chrome trim just is so slick. Slate blue and black is slick too.

Good luck with your current auto. I've already sacraficed a few grand to the car gods in the past year. Used already with 80k on the o-meter. And I so very much know what you mean about considering a Hyundai. Took a whole bunch of arm twisting to even get me to step foot on a lot. But truthfully, it's been hard finding another auto that gives you the same quality or waranty for that matter for that price. Good luck

Yep! My Explorer has 180,000 miles on it---used money to renovate a house instead of buying a car. But the time is here. May look at the Mitsubishi Outlander and Ford Edge (really do not want a Ford) when they come out soon. I have a feeling I'm still going to like the Santa Fe better. You have me thinking I may just have to make an offer on the Pearl White one they have at the dealership---black is difficult and it does get HOT here.

On PBS this Saturday Motorworld (I think) is reviewing the Santa Fe. I have it Tivo'd.

Forgot to add---if we have to wait 8 to 12 weeks for the color we want are we going to walk in the Hyundai dealership and want the Veracruz instead?

HA! Your killing me smalls.. Who knows... The grand daddy Veracruz looked exceptional from the pic's posted. But I'm not in that tax bracket! Single income, no sugar mamma yet.

Care of the black does take some work. But regular waxing and upkeep should do the trick. And if your in NM, you may want to consider a teflon coating. It gets HOT there!!
If I were to go white, I'd get the Arctic White. That would look GREAT with beige.

So my dealer made the offer of the Limited AWD with sunroof package at 30k out the door. thats a bit under 3k below MSRP. I wanna think this is a decent offer? For the record, according to lulu, i am also of the evil educated minority. But suprisingly, my dealer can appreciate that. Doesn't waste time haggling and just cuts to the chase. We'll see....

I wish I were so lucky! I tried to buy the Pearl White one on the lot today, and didn't really expect them to get to where I was at since I didn't want all the extra packages. But I didn't expect the runaround where the salesman goes back to the manager 4 or 5 times (I lost count) dropping a little bit each time. The most insulting, however, was the first counter where they were like $1000 over Hyundai MSRP. This dealer adds $2K extra profit and $1K for oil changes and tires for life (I think).

The next most insulting was the comment that they could never even reach my price for a Limited with no packages - I was $1K under MSRP at $25K. I'm sorry but I don't believe that.

I'm now on a hunt for something besides a Santa Fe unfortunately.
