I went to my local Hyundai dealer and want a Santa Fe GLS 7 pass. This is the top of the line edition in Canada which has all features for $35,995 CND MSRP (For my offer I went at $33,000 CND, expecting a counter offer). I pushed about the MSRP which caused the General Manager to come and talk with me who kindly asked that I leave if I wasn't going to be reasonable with my pricing... They then called me about 30 mins after I left. When I went in to bargain they flat out refused to move from the MSRP still but would go below cost on accessories. I had select about $2,200 CND in accessories which was given at $1,000 CND. Also I have a trade in (a 2000 Civic SiR in perfect condition which they've offered $11,000, which is common I had it appraised by other dealers at that price). Does this seem at all reasonable to not move on the MSRP? I didn't present the trade till long after we talked about the Santa Fe price. Also, for the asking to leave still surprizes me for a lack of customer service.

I have been looking for a 2007 Santa Fe AWD Limited with 3rd row seat for a while now in the bay area, California without any luck. The one I bought has everything I want except it's 2WD instead of AWD. I bought the car at Doten Automotive Hyundai in Richmond's Auto Plaza. The fleet department there is having a "$1000 under invoice sale" this month (October). The price they gave me after the "discount" was actually Edmund's invoice ($28,813). After applying my $500 voucher that I got from a Hyundai rep at a festival, the final price came down to $28,313 + TTL. I have driven it for half a day now and is loving every minute of it. Here's the car's detail info 2007 Hyundai Santa Fe 2WD Limited with Touring and Ultimate Package.

Here's one offer I just got from a dealer for an AWD Limited, with sunroof. Stickers around 29.5k Taxes/License OTD price... $30k. Am I a fool to think I can get WAY better?!? Also, unfortunately, my slate blue/beige interior trim wont be out for another 6-8weeks. Or so the fleet manager says to me (think he may be blowin' smoke). Also wanted a 4 day retainer to get the car from his 'buddy' at another dealership who trades wit no one else. All smells a bit fishy to me.... |

Replying to: lulu585 (Oct 20, 2006 10:22 am) Thats a pretty clever gimmick, the Ebay printout, too. Never thought of that. Although, I cant imagine a lot of dealers biting on that, in that it's a private party sell. But who knows. My dealer is currently looking for my colors accross the country, none to be found....yet. But Im looking to get OTD for around 28k. I would consider that a good deal. Thanks, and good luck to you too.
