So far no luck. Unfortunately it seems impossible to find a Santa Fe with a 3rd row and AWD that is not a Limited model with either Navigation or Entertainment. Which in turn means that the lowest that the dealer would go was 26,500, (after rebate), with me doing financing independently through my bank. Am I not negotiating hard enough? P.S., this was at Towne Hyundai in Denville.

I should add that he later said he retracted the 26500 OTD because he didn't think he could do it. I'm thinking that if the limited is 23K OTD, add 1407 for 3rd row, add navigation for I think it was 1200, = 25607. Would have paid this, maybe, OTD, but that's about my cut-off. Too bad.

just click on the LINK for cars in ur area:
enter your info to get quick quotes from dealers in ur area:
http://www.edmunds.com/new/2009/hyundai/santafe/101146762/dealerpricing.html
click here to check the current inventory in ur area:
http://www.edmunds.com/inventory/srp.html?make=Hyundai&model=Santa%20Fe
or got to cars.com for a competing list from the dealers; for some reason these prices always differ from competing websites:

Ok, like Ripley, here's my last entry. Came home today with a used Pilot, just under 40K miles, and 20K out the door. Am sad that could not buy a Santa Fe, as it gets 19 MPG vs. Pilot's 17 -- which has a fairly large affect on the old carbon footprint, as it turns out. But these ridiculous dealers will not stock (and can't find one to swap, since no one orders them) the midlevel SE with the AWD and the third row, which is what us moms want. Instead, they stock the Limited, with expensive bells and whistles, and middle class Janes like me? Priced out. Kinda funny -- first car my family ever owned brand new about 30 years ago was a Hyundai Pony with a manual choke! Cheap! Anyway, the Pilot seats 8 not 7, so that's a bonus. Safe driving.

i just noticed that after natalicious posted her question, she got 7 replies on this board. half an hour later, natalicious copy-pasted an almost identical posting on the rav-4 forum. guess what? none replied. some one on the rav-4 forum posted an unrelated message which says 'read back 75 or so posts instead of expecting to learn something without doing a little homework.'
btw, i m still wondering between santa fe and rav-4, which one gives a better value? a rav-4 may be more expensive upfront, but resale value keeps up longer. or does it?

I had the same questions two years when I bought my '07 and the Santa Fe won. Great value, warranty, safety rating, interior space, standard features and the car I would be satisified with a few years down the road. It worked for me and I have never looked back. Everyone has their favorites but for me I could never get past the Rav4 spare hanging on the rear hatch. Resale was not a concern as my vehicles last me about 10 years on average.

Is there a limit on how many times I post? I have a lot of questions & if I can get them answered here why not ask? If I find it easier to cut & paste 12 times to get a variety of responses... that's what I'll do. I'm happy that you found humor in this... giggle away! lol I appreciate all the responses that I've gotten so far, so if you have something useful to add to the post please do. I just like to have all the information to make the best decision.
P.S. I've posted the same thing elsewhere....that should really make you chuckle!
Lmao or is that you?

That sounds high. I just bought a 08 AWD Veracruz SE for just a bit more than that ($23K) OTD. Then again the rebates are a bit higher on the Veracruz.

I may be wrong but I think togrove was just pointing out that folks responding on this forum are a little more helpful than those responses (or lack of) you may have received elsewere. You can't ask too may questions, We're here to help.
