It's still a better deal to take the $3500 rebate than 0% apr. you get your savings up front. And I got 5.5% financing, and the 3500 rebate, not bad at all. If you do the math, the rebate is better.

i got a postcard yesterday from my local dealer saying all rebates were doubled and the the santa fe this week is $7000 - not bad if you can get the car for invoice as well.

Very interesting to learn about the double rebates? What that a national program or just something for your dealer? Can you please list the verbiage of the offer?

Our local dealers have been offering these "double rebate" deals for a while now. But they're typically from the MSRP, and one can do better than double the rebate from MSRP.

OK. . .getting ready to pull the trigger on an '08 SE FWD with Premium package (sunroof, heated seats, power seat, Homelink), floor mats and Bluetooth. Here're the numbers:
Invoice=25577
Hyundai financing=4 yrs. at 1.9%
Hyundai Finance Corp. rebate=2000
Final amount (less tax, title)=23577
That seems like a fair deal to me. . .any opinions?

What dealer are you working with? I am from south-central PA and tried for a long time to get the local dealers to do better (Laurel, Thomas, Delaney, Cochran, Patterson, etc). I ultimately went to Fairfax Hyundai in Fairfax, VA (relatives down there) and bought an 08 Ltd AWD for roughly $23500 + TTL after discounts and rebates. We bought it at the end of July this year. So far, a great car. Don't be afraid to go out of the area to buy. It does take a little more paperwork (temp registration, tax refund, waiting for Cert of Origin, PA registration and sales tax to pay, etc) but in the long run, we saved more than $1500 by going out of the area.

Just checking in to see if this is a good buy, we're looking to purchase this weekend. MSRP ~$32500, salesman quoted me $22300 + TTL. I can get him down a little more too, so I feel like it's pretty good after reading this. I offered $22k out the door, any thoughts?

Well. . I obtained the invoice price from an independant source and the dealer was starting at that invoice, and then the $2000 rebate from HMFC was applied. I got 1.9% fiancing for four years. If I paid cash for the vehicle, I would have gotten an additional $500 rebate, but I opted for the financing. Did you finance? If so, what rate, and how long?
The financing plays into the whole deal, not just the "out the door" price. What I look at is the total cost of the vehicle, including total interest paid over the term of the loan--that's what really matters in the real world.
P.S.: Bought mine at Freysingers in Mechanicsburg--would strongly recommend them to anyone looking for straight forward dealing--no games played there.

If the dealer started at invoice, did you get them to go lower? I live in Erie, PA and was trying to see how likely i can get one below invoice plus the rebates. I noticed in Pitt, Pa they are taking 7k off, but the warrantly started on them in sept.
