Just to touch on the highlights, I traded my 2004 Santa Fe GLS 2.7L silver exterior gray interior w/54,000 miles options include sunroof, fog lights, heated side mirrors in good condition w/$10,000 left to payoff. Took advantage of the end of model year sale and got a 2008 Santa Fe GLS 2.7L XM radio deepwater blue exterior beige interior w/22 miles on it options include popular package, floor mats, and mud guards. I know no sunroof, I bought my '04 Santa Fe used and had it for 2 years, thought I would love the sunroof but here in GA where you have pollen in the spring, humidity in the summer, and too cold in the winter I rarely used it. Also I was able to remove a dealer mark up off the price, ressisting all coating what ever that is, price at $399 MSRP $23,960 Manufacturer rebate $2,500 Dealer cash $1,500 Trade value $7,500 Down payment $4,000 With taxes and fees out the door $18857.05 My bank offers financing What you guys think, is this a deal or could i have gotten more

My boyfriend and I might purchase a 2007 Santa Fe GLS 2WD, 23K miles. The sticker price is 15,995, which way below KBBV and right on target with the Edmund's price. My boyfriend thinks we should make an offer at 13,000 and negotiate up from there, but I think that is so low that the salesman will be pissed off and won't take us seriously. I think we should start negotiating at 14,500. Any suggestions?

Replying to: sunnil (Aug 12, 2008 5:46 am) Manufacturer rebate $2,500 Dealer cash $1,500 Trade value $7,500 Down payment $4,000 With taxes and fees out the door $18857.05 "========================================= i'm confused about the math.... MSRP of $23960 minus $4000 (for rebate and cash back) puts u at $19960 if ur substracting $7500 for trade-in and adding an additional $4000 for down payment... total cost is now $8460 plus taxes. they screwed u on the trade-in... apparently ur $2500 negative on that since u still owed $10k on it, but the dealer would have given u the FULL $10k if u asked. i NEVER put any money down other than taxes and tags.... i think u over paid... total FINAL selling price should have been about $18k NOT including trade/down payment nor taxes... if u paid more than that but not more than $19k then u still did ok... but the $tealership always make money on your trade-ins. |

My wife and I just picked up a white 2007 Santa Fe GLS with 14k miles for $16,100. We think it's just as quiet and rides just as nicely as the Limited. We are very happy with the purchase.

I've been doing research on the Santa Fe and test drove it yesterday. I really liked it better than the other cars I've looked at which was the Mitsubishi Outlander, Chev. Equinox, and Honda CR-V. I'm usually a Honda buyer (on my 3rd Honda now) but have decided to move away from them because of the hideous rode noise. The Santa Fe looks expensive, drives well, is very agile, and is MUCH quieter than a HOnda. With the research I've done it looks like I can probably get a Limited FWD for only a few hundred dollars more than an SE with the premium package. I don't want navigation or other options. I've sent out emails to 5 dealerships for a price and I'm now waiting. Does anyone have a buying experience or advice for me? I'm in East Texas.

| Today I got a price for a Limited AWD with crossbars and mats $24,400+tax and title. The dealer will also make the last lease payment on my old car of $525. About $1600 less than Edmunds TMV not including the last lease payment they are going to make. If the deal holds up I will purchase tomorrow. Let you know. | |

you should be able to look at the MSRP on any of the SF's and ask for at least $8k off sticker.. so a limited AWD should come in under $25 with navigation. the GLS here in maryland can be had for $18k, LIMITED w/o nav for $23k
