It also gave a little thump when downshifting to the low gear after a full stop. I have had no trans problems on my caravan after 130k miles. I have several friends with Hyundai's and they have no complaints about their quality.

This quote is for 2008 Hyundai Santa Fe GLS 4dr SUV AWD (2.7L 6cyl 4A) with the standard features, Edmunds.com shows $23,888 for the invoice price. Looks this quote ($18989 + 2500 = $21489) is good deal, but this dealer is 30 miles away.   From my previous post: If I buy it from this dealer, does it means that I have to do all the maintaince work in this specific dealer? For example, if something goes wrong, do I have to go to this dealer to use the warranty.    Is it Santa Fe comes with 10y/10k miles warranty? Several quote say it is 6y/6k miles   I still do not know the answers for the above questions.   Thank you very much! Replying to: mpuzach (May 01, 2008 7:07 pm) I do have to say that one of my very few complaints with my '07 Limited FWD is the lag between first and second as was just described. I thought it might be isolated to mine but drove an '08 with 200 miles on it as a loaner from the dealership and it did the exact same thing. Have absolutely no problems with trans. once on the road, and no jerking up or down, but I do find the 1-2 shift to be an annoyance. Of course, winding out the gears with the manumatic takes care of this problem.

This holds true for warranty work or scheduled maintenance.   The bumper-to-bumper warranty is 6 years / 60,000 miles.   The powertrain warranty is 10 years / 100,000 miles. Most dealers will charge you a few dollars for an in transit permit. You have 30 days to take the vehicle to your home state to register it and pay the local sales tax.
