You will LOVE your Hyundai Santa Fe! I bought a 2007 SE AWD 3.3ltr V6 with no trade and paid $26K including Tax & Tags & out the door and thought that was a good deal. I live in Maryland Metro DC area and early in 2007 the Hyundai brand REALLY took off! My only slight let-down is a slightly lower than desired fuel economy of about 19.2 MPG around town and about 24 HWY. Was hoping for just a wee bit better based upon renting a Sonata and getting an approx 28mpg (forgot that Santa Fe is almost 600lbs heavier - oopps!). Funny but during the first 1000 mi break-in I took pains to keep it at 55 mph and was getting about 22 mpg combined. No matter I would do it AGAIN in a minute! Good luck!

Limited with Nav, sticker is 30465 after rebate, they were offerring 26,900. I think that's a great deal but i was really looking more for a lease and they didn't even want to touch the subject as if it would poison them or something.

Replying to: jbd3 (Mar 31, 2008 7:37 pm) I contacted 9 dealers, (southwestern Wi dealers); 6 responded. I got the email addresses from the Hyundai website, and was able to go direct to the Sales Managers that way. Invoice prices are AWD Limited $27,964 MSRP $29,800 DVD (or nav) 1628........... 1750 floor mats 96........... 120 mudguards 76........... 95 dest chg 695........... 695 Zimbrick had good inventory and he has more coming in April. Gentile in Racine as well as Arrow in West Allis appeared to have a good selection too (they just didn't have the deepwater blue/beige interior I wanted). give 'em a call!

Replying to: nbr1 (Apr 01, 2008 6:00 pm) What a great idea! Please: 1) How did you find the Hyundai website; 2) how can I find Honda dealers' email addresses; 3) what did your email say that resulted in such success? Thanks to you and the others who may read this and reply.

Then,go to the dealer's websites, you should be able to find a drop down, usually titled 'sales department' with all their names. (I found that info on all but two of the sites I reviewed). Honda is simply www.honda.com...same thing..it says 'find a dealer', and you put in your zip code. If you want to expand your horizons you may also need to put in another zip for the area you want to research. I used 'Fighting Chance" (www.fightingchance.com) which was well worth the $40 to get all the information...he gives you current information on the car market and the industry; the current status of the company you are interested in; current rebates in effect; what other people have been paying for your particular vehicle, invoice prices and options, and most importantly, information to help you contact the dealers and HOW to approach it. The information truly helped me negotiate and put me in the proverbial 'driver's seat'! Basically, the letter explains what you want to buy, when, and that you want only their best price. You turn the negotiation from you, to competition between dealer to dealer. Word of caution though...all dealers can 'locate' a vehicle, so if you truly want one NOW, make sure they have it on their lot when you talk with them. And second, talking with the sales manager before you send the letters is key, because you can a) make sure they will quote you; b) make sure they have the vehicle configuration you want, and c) make sure you get a good feeling from them and if they are a business you want to work with. I hope this post helps someone! |
