Hello...we just purchased a new 2008 Santa Fe Limited AWD from a Madison Wi dealer (Zimbrick) ....they were outstanding to work with...very professional, honest, and went the extra mile for us. I used "Fighting Chance" information (Highly recommend checking them out) to go out for bid with several dealers. It was very interesting to see the pricing...we received quotes ranging from approximately $750 under invoice up to $200.00 under invoice, (all before the rebate) but the majority of them were all within $50.00 of each other, so I felt confident I was getting a fair price. My experience however showed that the lower priced dealers did not have the vehicle in stock....and one in particular wanted a credit card right away...first call, and they said they had a vehicle on the lot, when in fact, they did not. Ethics??? I went with a dealer in the 'middle' of the price pack, and am so very glad I did. I picked them because they had the color combo wanted; they offered us suggestions and ideas others did not; he gave me his best price the first time (and didn't try to underbid others just to get the business) and was very honest and upfront about the deal. I put a lot of value on integrity! They even drove us to an 'aftermarket' store and helped us pick out a product we wanted and then provided a loaner car while the new vehicle was getting this installed. Customer service and personality of employees are very important because 'value added' services are truly 'priceless'. I found you can get a pretty good feel about a dealership by calling them first and talking with the Sales Manager!

I just bought a Silver 2008 SE AWD: Touring package 7 pc floor mats cross rails mud guards first aid kit $23,917 For an extra $265 I got them to add an extra oil change (for a total of two), factory cargo mat, tow hitch, and completly wire a trailer brake control (w/ 12 volt charge wire) and install a 7 pole trailer connector for my travel trailer. The trailer hitch and brake wiring would have cost me $400.00 alone. Final price before Tax License and Fees was $24,182. There was a $229 doc fee and $189 theft insurance/prevention charge the dealer adds to every vehicle (I tried to get out of the theft fee but could not). However, these fees were lower than the other dealers in the area. The rest of the fees were state sales tax, property tax and license and registration (Utah is very high on taxes). OTD $26,319. It took a lot of haggaling and I waited for the last Saturday of the month to get this price. I got it for over $1,400 below invoice (including the hitch and cargo mat) before rebates. Good luck. |

Replying to: rjr2565 (Mar 29, 2008 12:18 pm) If you bought the LTD Santa Fe AWD with trading in a 96 Sable and a $2K rebate I think you just set a "best deal ever" negotiation! CONGRATS! You will LOVE your Hyundai Santa Fe! I bought a 2007 SE AWD 3.3ltr V6 with no trade and paid $26K including Tax & Tags & out the door and thought that was a good deal. I live in Maryland Metro DC area and early in 2007 the Hyundai brand REALLY took off! My only slight let-down is a slightly lower than desired fuel economy of about 19.2 MPG around town and about 24 HWY. Was hoping for just a wee bit better based upon renting a Sonata and getting an approx 28mpg (forgot that Santa Fe is almost 600lbs heavier - oopps!). Funny but during the first 1000 mi break-in I took pains to keep it at 55 mph and was getting about 22 mpg combined. No matter I would do it AGAIN in a minute! Good luck!

Limited with Nav, sticker is 30465 after rebate, they were offerring 26,900. I think that's a great deal but i was really looking more for a lease and they didn't even want to touch the subject as if it would poison them or something.

Replying to: jbd3 (Mar 31, 2008 7:37 pm) I contacted 9 dealers, (southwestern Wi dealers); 6 responded. I got the email addresses from the Hyundai website, and was able to go direct to the Sales Managers that way. Invoice prices are AWD Limited $27,964 MSRP $29,800 DVD (or nav) 1628........... 1750 floor mats 96........... 120 mudguards 76........... 95 dest chg 695........... 695 Zimbrick had good inventory and he has more coming in April. Gentile in Racine as well as Arrow in West Allis appeared to have a good selection too (they just didn't have the deepwater blue/beige interior I wanted). give 'em a call!
