Mpuzach, thanks for the response.. I feel real dumb now since I just bought a 2008 Altima for $100 below invoice I thought dealers just wouldn't sell for under invoice, I must be really uninformed.. So starting at 21,500 would be your suggestion?

21,500 - 2000 rebate - 1500 trade = 18000

I'd buy that right now if I could

Fitzmall on the internet and in Maryland offered the best price on a Santa Fe. If I had settled on a SF I would have bought it there.

Just asked the dealer to do 18000 out the door..

Invoice 22,900 - 1400 under invoice - 2000 rebate - 1500 trade = $18000..

We'll see!

Suggestion to folks wanting to know, "Is this a good deal?" by mpuzach

Lately there have been quite a few posts requesting opinions on pricing, "Is this a good deal?", "How much should I pay?", etc. Unfortunately, most of these requests come with insufficient information to respond with sound advice. When asking such questions here on the forum, you'll get much more qualified responses if you include:

- The vehicle's M.S.R.P.
- The vehicle's invoice price (easily available at Edmunds.com)
- All specific model info (including year, trim level, FWD / AWD)
- All options

Failure to provide this info just forces potential respondants to look it up; I for one simply will no longer take the time to do that. If you provide the info, however, I'll always do my best to offer sound advice. Just a thought.

Just base model no option

IMpuzach im sorry not to mention that kind of information..

I just send back email to them im wondering if they can sell it by 22.5K they told the bottom line is 24.5K Im wondering if it's good deal I think if I just minus 2000$ rebate with invoice price is gonna be 24383. im kinda curious it's good deal

You should be able to buy the car for somewhere between $500 and $1000 UNDER invoice, LESS REBATES. That puts a reasonable purchase price between $25,383 and $25,883, LESS REBATES, plus taxes and registration. If their price of $24,500 reflects $2000 in rebates, then they're really selling the car to you for $26,500 which is $117 ABOVE invoice. At that number, they're at least $617 too high IMO.

Ok, bought the Santa Fe SE with the following info.. My offer of 18000 out the door was ridiculous and I know it! Went to another dealer in Greensboro.

Invoice was about 23,300 with mats and cargo cover

23,300 - 2000 rebate - 1500 trade = 20,300

We agreed on 19,200 + Tax, tag, etc. So, looks like I got it for $1100 under invoice, which makes me happy.

Beautiful vehicle, easy to drive, most importantly, surprised the wife. She was on her way home in her beat-up 98 cavalier and I called her and told her to swing by the dealership. She was very happy!

Thanks for the help, really appreciate the info I got from here.
