Just bought one today and I'm excited. I did my research....tons of it....went to all the car websites and bought an Obsidian Black w/grey int LX 3.5 4WD with Sunroof (they are putting it in next week....a but nervous about that, but they guarentee it is even better than the factory installed one (yeah....we'll see), and Crossrails. (They also hav a sticker on it for an additional $2495 for "appearance package" which included such things as undercarriage coating, seat protectant, pinstriping, door guards...etc....which I said...."Don't EVEN include that in the discussion or I am gone". Anyway, I paid $24,000 even (inclusive of destination charge) not inc Tax/tags but also including the $1k rebate plus 1K loyalty rebate. I had a trade in too which I would have liked to get more for, but its what I expected. Any thoughts on how I did? Before rebate it worked out to around $125 under invoice. I negotiated from (Invoice - 2% dealer holdback + Fair dealer profit (which turned out to be 2.75%)). I bought it from Bran Benson Hyundai in North Brunswick, NJ. The staff was pretty easy to talk/deal with.

Hiya, bought a new santa fe 3.5 lx fully loaded except for moonroof. sticker was 24065 and they had 1000 rebate as well. Used the rebate for the extended warranty 10/100k BtB so ended up paying 24150 before trade in. Was going to buy silver as I've always enjoyed silver, but noticed their mocha frost and was surprised at how well it looked. It appears to change color is different lighting. The buying experience was good, they really need sales during winter time. I asked what is their worst month for sales and they said december/January. So if you are looking to buy and want them to work hard for your sale, that would be the time to go. So far I'm happy with the santa fe, by biggest beef is the legroom. I'm 5'10" and even with the seat all the way back, my legs are cramped. I do not recommend the santa fe for anyone over 6 feet tall. |

Went to the dealer to see the one and only 2004 SF they have left on the lot. Of course, my son tells me beforehand "just make sure you don't buy red." It's red with gray trim. Drove it, liked the way it handled. Nice little car. First time seeing a SF. Okay, so, it has things that I'd normally not have on my car, here's a few specs: Sunroof Alarm/Auto Door Locks AM/FM/Cassette/CD (guy says you can load 6 CD's) Cruise Control It's a v6, 2.7 2WD GLS model. Automatic trans. Cloth seats (tan). It's list price was almost $23K. They had it, after incentives for almost $16K. Now, he adds up the numbers and tells me that there's a $1750 incentive since it's a 2004 that I qualify for, and then another $1750 incentive, but I don't qualify for all of them??? So he adds both incentives BACK on to the price of $15, 742, gives me only $1K for my trade-in (KBB says in it's condition it should be almost $2K) and taxes, tags, etc. deducts one of those so-called incentives and comes up with a total of $19,500 out the door - then says that he could probably get me another $1k for my car to make it $18,500. Told him to see if he could possibly do better, at least meet me half way, like $17,250 (or better) Any thoughts? It does have a little over 1K miles on it, it was a demo. I was told by someone else that red fades. Anyone have a red car??? So, any thoughts about this deal? THANKS!! Debbie

My husband and I are car shopping and currently we are looking at the Santa Fe. The dealer near us in Cuyahoga Falls, OH has what seems to be a good deal, although I would like your opionions: It is a 2004 (NEW) Sante Fe GLS with AWD and a 2.7L engine It has a power moonroof Cargo tray Mud Flaps Roof rack Pretty much ALL the options on the GLS except for the Monsoon sound system and the 6-CD changer. Because it is a 2004, they say they are selling it at invoice. I can't seem to find a website that will give invoice on this car because they are all quoting 2005's now. Anyway - they say that the invoice on it is about 23,406. They are selling it with the $1750 rebate for 21,656. I am currently leasing a car with 3 lease payments left totalling $750. I asked the salesman if they could do anything about those and he said he would ask his manager about seeing if they could pay up to $400 of them. He said they really would not go any lower on the car itself because it's already "at invoice" Is this a good price for this car? We really would like it but IDEALLY we'd love to pay $21000 for the car after the rebate and get ALL of my lease payments paid. Is this asking too much?? Thanks in advance!! MusicAngel |

I don't know if that's a good deal or not - I was told deals can be different in different areas. When I decided on a SF I figured if I could find a 2004 that I could get a better deal. I found one 2004 at this one dealer and it had the moonroof and the 6 CD changer package in it. They had it advertised for this low-ball price, which I came to learn was with ALL the incentives one person in a million could qualify for - but I wasn't that lucky one. SO, after they added this, subtracted that, etc., etc., with my trade-in, which wasn't worth squat, it was $18,500. I didn't buy it, one reason, it was red and I just didn't like the red and gray combo, plus son said "stay away from red, they get more tickets!" The other reason, I really just didn't care for the guy at the dealer. Seriously though, it was the first time I had ever seen a SF, after searching the web I decided to take a look at some of the other dealers around. I also learned that the 2.7 would get better gas mileage than the 3.5, and that I could easily do with the FWD instead of 4WD - I live in SOFLA. The third dealer we stopped at is where we bought the car - if I knew being crapped on by a bird was good luck, I would of known that we were going to buy a car there - everyone else knew this good luck "charm". Anyhow, I ended up buying a 2005-it has everything I needed and then some. Only extra was the crossrails, not that I'll ever use them. Mind you, my trade in, if I was lucky, KBB was about $1900, not considering I had more problems than noted. I walked out TAX, TAG, TITLE, ETC - nothing more to pay, $18K exact. It was a bit more than I wanted to spend, but I'm overall very happy. I had a great experience with the dealer and that alone made it even better! I had my mind set on $18K and stood on it. To make a long story short, the mgr kept coming down, and, I stayed stead-fast on my highest I'd go - he went from $18,700., to $18,500, then said he'd meet me in the middle of $18,250 - I was ready to walk, yes, even being that close - as I stood, said "thank you for your time" he said, "Okay, do the deal!" and that was that! Try this website for invoice price: http://www.car-prices-costs.com/2004-Hyundai-Santa-Fe.html Also, be aware that if you want to do the extended warranty to make it 10yr/100K bumper to bumper, you can find great deals out there - doesn't have to be through the dealer you purchase your car through. Also, got the all weather rubber mats at a great deal from a dealer out of state AND I bought my cargo tray on Ebay. I hope you get the deal you want. I pride myself in being a great shopper and I think the overall homework I did, and not jumping at the first car I drove paid off. I'd definitely call around and see what's available at other dealers before you jump on this deal if you haven't already. GOOD LUCK! Debbie |

| I bought a new 2005 white Sante Fe LX 2WD with sunroof, crossrails, tow hitch and hand painted pin strips. Including the $1000 rebate I paid $22000 +TTL no trade-in. The ticker price was $26024 + $299 (after market pin strips) = $26323 . Bought at Huffins in Plano Tx. Hope this helps. | |
