In post #260 on this thread, I happily reported the details of my 06 Limited, black, with beige leather. Last week my wife got rear-ended and the car is totaled. My main question is this - for those of you with the touring package - if the seats are folded down, how is the storage capacity? We don't want the third row seating, but if it is all we can find we would take it. We would rather have the storage space though. Also, I am in Alabama and willing to go anywhere within 5-6 hours to find the right car. If you know of a great dealer (or one to avoid) within the very wide borders of Jackson, MS to Huntsville, AL, to Atlanta down to Orlando, let's hear it.

Replying to: jiminyintx (Sep 04, 2007 6:46 pm) from Arapahoe Hyundai in Denver! They were true with the quoted pricing: 24,500 before Dealer Processing, TT&L At least 3 other dealerships told me there was absolutely no way that price was real, because the dealership would lose money on the deal...well, it was real and I HIGHLY recommend Arapahoe Hyundai, and in particular their internet sales manager, June Reynolds. |

I wanted the Touring Package, and had a hard time finding one, but the dealer lots were full of Santa Fes without Touring. This was in mid-May. As for Touring Package, it gets you the fold-down third row seat, 3rd row A/C controls, and Tow Prep (upgraded cooling system and trans cooler, basically), and a slightly higher GVWR, which means it is more capable of handling heavier loads. Tow rating increases from 2,000 to 3,500 pounds with the Touring Package. The 3rd row seats disappear into the floor when folded. The only thing you lose is the front underfloor storage compartment. Otherwise, with the seats folded, the only way to distinguish a Santa Fe with 3rd row from one without is that the 3rd row models have cupholders and A/C vents in the side of the storage area. Check one out, and I think you'll be impressed. |

No one here has recommended using a dealer's adjusted price as a starting point for negotiation of purchase price.

Replying to: chrislegg1 (Sep 05, 2007 3:19 am) Thanks for the advice. Yes, I realize many of the dealers add on extras that they will "quote" as part of the MSRP, such as the fabric protection, etc. I spoke with a dealer today who gave me a quote on a car with all the useless dealer add-ons. When I told him I was not interested in them, he subtracted them and immediately quoted me a price $200 below dealer invoice. I've had two dealers with quotes at $200 below invoice (not including rebate), but I truly want a better deal!!! Someone help me here. Another question I have is, how does Fitzmall sell their cars so cheap? Any personal experiences? I was using their prices as a goal, but no one seems to want to match them or come close. For example, Fitz has a Santa Fe Limited with a dealer invoice of $25,486 and sells it for $22,398. How can they sell it for that much less? Even with the $1500 rebate I am eligible for, that is still another $1588 below invoice. Someone enlighten me, please. I am ready to buy!!!!

Hi there, I'm new to this forum board, and I will go back and read the archives but thought I'd post this also. I am trying to decide between a Mitsubishi Outlander and Hyundai Santa Fe - I think I am leaning towards the Santa Fe (I have a baby and a large dog), and I wondered if I could run my initial pricing quotes past you guys. 2007 SE FWD (no additional options): (none of these include TTL, but they do include either a $1000 or $1500 rebate, I believe). $21,664 $21,585 $21,575 Am I in a decent ballpark here, or should I be going for much less? Thanks! -Sarah |

I know I'm coming late to the game and asking for answers on things I could probably research, but thought you guys could give me a quick rundown - what is Fitzmall? Can I order from them (I'm in Michigan) and they'll deliver it for the price quoted? Do you find dealers in your area match this price? Thanks!

I've bought a number of cars from them (other models) and dealt with them on other occassions, and all I can tell you is that they are for real and they their prices are their prices. This really is the type of business where the victor gets the spoils, so frequently certainly dealerships that perform particulary well get various incentives, etc. |
