What's best NJ price for Santa Fe SE 2WD ? by slpprs

I'm currently negotiating on a 2007 Santa Fe SE 2WD (w$95 floor mats). (Of course there is always about $895 of dealer add ons like pin stripe and other such 'junk' for the other handwritten sticker price.) The MSRP is $24,595. Besides the $1000 rebate, I get $500 buyer loyalty rebate, and $500 financing rebate. Taking us to $22,595. My 2005 GLS Tucson trade has 30,900 miles very nice /exc cond is being offered at a $11,500 trade value (which I think is very good based on research). NJ sales tax is 7%
The current offer I have is finance $10,682, "Out The Door Price" including tax
Should I hold out for $10,100 ? A second dealer told me they couldn't come within $500 of the $10,100 otd, and if the first dealer keeps his word at $10,682, I should go for it.
Tell me if you think I have squeezed them enough? Is the one dealer getting a bigger kickback or hungrier for their monthly quota? The dealer that gave up only offered $9,700 on the trade. I hope to make a decision today....before I put more miles on my trade. Luv Hyundai's. This will be my fourth! Pam

Beware Easterns Hyundai - Leesburg VA - SCAM by holtgregm

This is a repost, as the moderator removed my original message because I had included the names of salespeople - I guess that's a no-no.

BEWARE OF EASTERNS HYUNDAI IN LEESBURG, VA.

They are frauds. After reading much info on this site to help my mom buy a new AWD Limited with Touring & Premium package, I was working deals between various dealers in PA, VA, and MD. These guys made a deal with me on the phone for the vehicle we wanted, at 27,000 at 3.9%, plus tax and tags. No one else could match it. It wasn't the color she wanted, so they said they'd honor that deal and try to find the Cherry Red she wants. When they called back and said they couldn't find it, they said they'd sell her the slate blue they had on the lot and give her another 200 off for the color - 26,800. Deal is agreed to, I'm assured there are no other hidden charges, I give them a deposit to hold it until Saturday, and I tell my mom.

She's so excited. She says she wants to drive down there herself so she can enjoy the ride home in her new car. She drives the 4.5 hours down from Pittsburgh to Leesburg and they show her the Santa Fe -

It has 6200 miles!!

They tell her it's a managers demo, and they'll knock off another 500. Then she finds out it's a loaner, used by multiple people. She's livid (as am I). They tell her they'll find her what she wants somewhere else and trade for it but it'll cost another 1200 on top of the agreed to price. No way!

After 3 hours in the dealership, with me on the phone, finally talking to the General Manager, saying they thought we knew it was a demo, they decide they can't make it right, fill up her gas tank, and she walks. No way are we going with the obvious bait and switch BS, or the 1200 upcharge for a brand new one (if they were willing to find a cherry red for the same price, then how was this price only for their loaner vehicle?). They keep asking me what will make us happy, and I keep telling them to honor their deal like real businessmen, but they decline, say they can't do it.

So I get on the phone with Fitzmall and a dealer in Fairfax, VA, only an hour from where she is, who both have what she wants in stock and are comparable in price to each other (though about 700 more than her original deal at Easterns), but at this point, she's ready to cry and just wants to come home.

We made a deal with the nice guys up at Motorworld Hyundai in Wilkes-barre and she'll get hers next Saturday - so there is a silver lining.

Not looking for pity or starting a debate, just warning others to STAY AWAY FROM EASTERNS IN LEESBURG. INTERNET AND SHOWROOM SALESMEN PRACTICE BS BAIT AND SWITCH.

Does Hyundai Have a Central Clearinghouse? by stelmoqn

I wondered if there was an online clearinghouse of sorts where it would be easier to locate a model by color/package/etc.

I know I'm looking for a certain exterior/interior color combo and am willing to drive within a reasonable distance to get it.

It just gets tiresome looking at 50 different websites looking for the combo I'm interested in...

Unfortunately no, at least not one that consumers can access.

What is the Best Price on '07 Limited w/ Premium Package? by stelmoqn

I'm looking for one in the Denver area but the salespeople I've dealt with are nitwits and can't match some of the deals I've seen here on the board.

Anybody willing to help me locate a Platinum Sage AWD Limited w/ premium package? I'd prefer a beige interior.

I'm willing to go out of state for a great deal...

Fitzmall can come very close. They have a couple of inbound Limited AWDs in Platinum Sage with Premium Package and carpeted mats but with the gray interior. M.S.R.P. is $29,885, invoice is $28,211, and net purchase price (after rebates) is $25,411.

They have identically-equipped Santa Fe Limited AWDs with beige interior either in stock or inbound in Arctic White, White Pearl, and Natural Khaki.

BTW, have you seen the gray interior? It's very attractive.

Platinum Ext. Warranty by glassbaby

This forum is one of the best resources I have found for saving money on the whole car buying experience. Thanks to everyone who has posted.

Last Monday, we bought a Bright Silver (grey Int.) '07 Limited with premium pkg, for $800 below invoice before rebates, TTL. I wouldn't have got this good a deal without the shared experiences found on this board. [Called Fitzmall and Towne and had lower prices, but decided against the hassles of the 3+ hour trip; I live in CT]

I shunned the dealer offered ext warranty, b/c I had read here the I should be able to get the Platinum Pkg w/$0 deductible for $795-895 from the dealer mentioned on checkbook.org. I called him today and was told $1200. He said that the $795 pricing was for a previous version of the HPP. Does anyone have any current experience / knowledge. Also, looking at what I think is a current contract for the HPP not just the brochure [www.officialhyundaiwarranty.com], the contract says it only replaces mechanical failures (i.e. wear outs as opposed to defects) up to 50K miles. What gives with this? Has anyone had a bad experience on this front?

Lastly, the contract says the plan is administered by Fidelity Warranty Services. Should I be concerned? Is this different than what Hyundai has offered in the past?

Again, thanks for all the free advice. I hope to be able to help someone else through my future experiences down the road.

Current Rebates & or Incentives by crzyaim

Can anyone tell me what the current incentives & or rebates that are available currently on the Santa Fe? So far I've seen the $1000 cash to customer & $500 Bonus cash if you use their financing. I've seen on some posts rebates totaling $2800 and not sure what that incorporates. Any information would be great.
