So a 52k - 12k = 40k. Now factor into it, a WHOPPING 22k miles. MB charges 25cents? a mile..so at 22k you should get another 5k off i think at the LEAST. I would pay 33-34k at most. You can get a new 10model for 10k off, why go for such high mileage? |

-vchad, Thanks for the reply. I know that is an awful deal and I called it off! I was able to locate a another ML 350 in one of our local dealer, but it is a certified 06 model with 55000 mi on it. The warranty ends 08/11 or 100k miles. It is basically fully loaded, including nav, upgrade audio, suede seats, running board, 19' wheels and many more, and it is extremly clean and in mint condition. The dealer asked for $26,000 + ttl. Any thoughts on the deal and what price should I expect? Thanks!

Replying to: llhh0223 (Nov 18, 2009 7:21 pm) My logic is if it was a 3yr old lease return, it should of had 30-36k miles on it, and it was probably returned(1yr ago, possibly 2). Those cars had a buyout of around 27-28k. With the extra 25k miles, at .25 a mile, thats around 7.5k discount, plus the age of the vehicle. Plus add on around 1.5k for the warranty cost and maintenance they did to CPO the car. Offer 20.5, they'll probably laugh, tell you its below cost, need to keep the lights on, offer 21k final offer. If they say no, go home. 9 out of 10times, they'll call you back. show them your ready to take the car home that night at 21k at most, if they try to bully you or pull all sortas stupid dealer stunts, simply get up, shake there hand, go home!

Thank you all, and carman, for all the great information on these forums. I've just leased a 2010 ML350 Nov. 17. Details are: ML350 350W4 Palladium/Black 4 wheel Drive - MSRP $57, 125 Metallic Paint ,Premium 1 Package, Lighting Package, Appearance Package, Trailer Hitch, Heated Front Seats, Pre-Wiring for Rear Seat Entertainment. First offer from dealer was 10% off sticker and the additional $2,000 lease cash from MB. After a couple of days negotiation final deal was at 12% off sticker, plus the MB $2,00 lease cash. So, final deal was at a selling price (inital cap cost) $48,270, no money down/no cap reduction. Dealer marked up money factor from MBs 0.00035 to 0.00055, and marked up acquisition fee up from $735 to $1,095. Total dealer fees (acquisition $1,095 + dealer handling $399) $1,494 added to the lease for a final cap cost of $ 49,764. 12K miles /year, 36 months Lease payment $600.90 before local taxes (mine are $40.26 for a total of $641.16/month) Paid $653 at delivery (641.16 first payment, plus $12.2 doc fee). Absolutely great experience overall from negotiation to my 2008 E350 W4 lease return and delivery. |
