Replying to: oceanmist (Apr 28, 2009 5:30 pm) I think you're missing a piece of the puzzle. You should be able to listen to your CD (or XM or radio, etc.) with the RES turned off. You need to select the "front" system as the control and then when you shut-down the RES it will run whatever you want through all the speakers. The option to have both on, is so that you can turn off the rear speakers and activate the headphones, while you still listen to CD's, etc on the front speakers. Replying to: tradepar (May 12, 2009 3:06 pm) check out tlcbluetooth.com they are the only ones that have a ipod/blutooth connection for your car as a add on into the aux input in your radio which lets you talk into a mic in your car and listen to the callers voice through the speakers. no wire cutting easy install. I was wondering if anyone can confirm that DVD-R movies play fine in the RES. I have stripped the menus out of the kids most popular movies so that we can insert them and they immediately play. Replying to: schoplmd (May 20, 2009 9:45 pm) That is exactly what we do for exactly the same reason. Plus if the kids "handle" the DVDs a lot, I can burn another copy easily. You can burn to cheaper CD-ROM media but it does not play well nor consistently in the RES. If you get good at burning, you can put more than one show on a DVD. You are not limmited by time. But quality will suffer if you stretch that. Oh, do NOT put homemade labels (printed stickers) on the discs. They will not eject well and can get stuck in the slot loader.. I just use a permenant marker to label. Not pretty but functional.

Hello, the cd player quit working in our 04 Odyssey. My question is, will a cd player from a 04 Pilot fit? The plug is the same. Thanks.

Is it possible that it's just an issue with a changer which could happen to any vehicle using the same type of CD-changer?   -Sarah

I have found people talking about "buzzing" but I cannot locate a discussion about my problem.   I purchased a used 2004 Odyssey RES and all audio sources play through both the front and rear speakers, but no audio at all through the wired headset jacks in the back or the wireless headsets. I also have another Odyssey with RES so I know I am operating it correctly and have checked the headsets with the other system and the headsets work fine... just no audio through either the wired or wireless with any audio source (dvd, cd, am/fm).   I called my local Honda Dealer and they claim to have no information in the Honda data-base on this issue.   If anyone has any info on this issue... please post! Replying to: hihostevo (Jun 01, 2009 10:24 am) Well I think I may have discovered the reason for the malfunction......   While a technician was remote mounting the wiring for a portable GPS unit ( also installs the after-market DVD systems) he took a look at the radio head unit for me.   When he first pulled the unit out you could hear popping and the sound going in and out and smell an electrical short.   Come to find out... apparently the previous owner of the Odyssey children thought the CD slot was a great place for coin storage. Inside the radio chassis were 12 pennies, 2 nickles, and 5 dimes! One each of the pennies, nickles, and dimes, showed signs of heavy arcing.   After there removal the radio head unit performed properly... but the audio to the headsets both wired and wireless is still dead. My guess would be that while the coins were ratteling around arcing they zapped whatever circuit on the main board controls audio output to the headsets.   Does anyone happen to know if just that main board in the radio can be replaced.... ???   I would really hate to find out how much an entire new head unit would cost.
