Hello, we just picked up a 2005 Honda Odyssey EX-L yesterday. We love it, but we've discovered that the CD player is not functioning. My guess is that it is jammed and there are CDs in there from the previous owner. I've glanced around online and it seems others have had problems w/ the CD player in the '05 Odysseys, but it doesn't seem like anyone has a solution. Has anyone here discovered a fix? Should our dealer be able to easily fix this? I noticed in the latest Consumer Reports they did say that the audio systems in 05 Odysseys tended to need repair at a greater than average rate. Any help would be appreciated.

Is there a "one-touch" way to shift music exclusively to the rear speakers when I've hit my limit of kid music? Currently I'm pushing the Sound button on screen and then manually moving the indicator over to the rear speakers -- a somewhat cumbersome and unsafe maneuver while driving. You'd think in a family friendly car there would be a way to get this done quickly/easily. Any ideas? Thanks. kls |

I have a 06 Odyssey EX-L with RES and I was wondering if there is a way to switch off the DVD player while keeping the system on. For example I’m driving the kids and they watch a movie, then I drop them at the day care, and I would like to listen to a CD, but if I just switch to CD, the DVD continues to play. If I want to keep the current location in the movie, I have to switch off the whole system (and can’t listen to CD). As far as I know the only way I can stop the movie while keeping the location, and listen to a CD is by “pausing” the DVD or by switching off the RES system. I find it odd that there is no “Off” Switch on the DVD player itself. Please advice, thanks.
