Apologies if this has been answered - couldn't find it by searching.

What kind of adapter, if any, is available to connect an iPod (mine is a Touch 32) to the Odyssey sound system?

If there is none, what do people do? Just use the ear buds? That's not safe, I think :-0

Thanks - appreciate any replies.

Re: Will my 2008 Honda Odyssey FM radio display the song/artist?? [kls_125] by ocuihs

No text display of song/artist on Frequency Modulation (FM) stereo radio. I used to own a 2001 Honda Odyssey, also no text display of song/artist on FM stereo radio.

I believe that technology you refer to is Radio Data System (RDS) where I have it on my other car - 2004 Nissan with XM - both of my regular FM radio and satellite display text of song/artist.

Radio Data System, or RDS, is a communications protocol standard from the European Broadcasting Union for sending small amounts of digital information using conventional FM radio broadcasts. The RDS system standardises several types of information transmitted, including time, track/artist info and station identification. RDS has been standard in Europe and Latin America since the early 1990s, but less so in North America.

Try USA Spec PA15-HON2 www.usaspec.com or www.crutchfield.com

I've heard in person those cassette adapters, FM modulators, Honda Music Link (discontinued by Honda) from friends and families who own them.......that's why one of my posts mentioned stay away from these. USA Spec products are one of the best out there.

Stripped screws in removing the radio in 08 EX-L by andya729

Has anyone else encountered a problem with stripping the screws that are underneath the radio head unit when trying to remove it? I'm trying to install a Parrot Hands-free for my bluetooth phone, and when I went to remove the small screws the head on the first one stripped very easily. It's in a very awkward spot without much room to work on it and everything I tried seems to make it worse.

Any thoughts or has anyone else had a similar issue?

RES fuse location? by SUPERBOAT21

Took deliver last night of a brand new 09 Touring. Kids were asleep and very excited to see the van in the driveway this morning. Went out for a drive (with movies in hand to watch) and KURPLUNK!!! No video in the lcd, and seemingly, no power is getting to the RES unit.

We do have the dvd movie adio coming from all speakers, just no video.

Anybody know where the fuse box is located for the dvd lcd?

ps. Glad to know my dealership tested everything before I drove it away ;-(

I'm not sure where the fuse is, but that's likely your problem. It comes shipped without a fuse in that slot and the dealer is supposed to install during PDI. Have seen gobs of this same issue on other forums, so it seems to slip through a lot of cracks! We were lucky with ours I guess.

Stay away from GNet. I wasted $300 on one. It was bad. I sent it back to Canada for replacement (what a hassle!) and got back another bad unit. Then Gnet said that my unit was out of warranty. I never worked right *ever*. Crappy equipment. Crappy company.

It was half the price to install a sun visor monitor for the front passenger. Now the wife can monitor what the kids are watching, start movies, etc., and the driver is not distracted.

BTW... if you use the factory IR remote controller and hold it exactly upside and pointed straight at the back window, you can control the RES from the front row, because you'll get enough IR play off of the back glass to make it work.

BTW2... if you buy a "learning remote" (such as a"One For All" -- visit www.hifi-remote.com to learn more about them and others like them), you can learn all of the factory codes and have a remote which is even easier-to-use from the front row.

ocuihs very nicely responded to my original message, however the post (#594) doesn't show up here (I may be being incredibly dense, but I can see 593 and 595, but no 594). I can only see half the response in the email notification I received.

Am I being stupid?
