I am looking to install an after market DVD into a 2006 Odyssey and would like to keep the 6 disc OEM changer, any ideas if or how this can be done?

I am looking to add Honda bluetooth to a 2008 Odyssey EX-L NAV. Does anyone know when this will be available? Thanks

| I was hoping someone could assist in selecting the best location for mounting a 10" flip down monitor in a 2006 Odyssey with sliding sun roof? I am hoping to avoid removing the entire head liner just to see what's there. It feels like there is a main beam just behind the roof opening. Any aadvice would be greatly appreciated. | |

I am on my second DVD player in my 2006 Odyssey. They both have this problem where if you watch a DVD and then turn off the car, sometimes when you turn it back on, the DVD plays the audio, but the DVD screen is black. My wife says she thinks it has something to do with if you switch to the radio and then go back to the DVD. Has anyone had this trouble? If so, do you have a solution? My dealer has not been able to solve this yet. Thanks!

I have a 05 Honda Odyssey, with a sliding sunroof. Just had a 15" Tview overhead DVD installed. Looks fine, but the sound coming out of the stereo speakers is distorted. Even if we find a "dead" radio station to pick up the DVD player, you can't understand what is being said in the movie. Installer is saying the only fix is to use IR headphones, and that doesn't sound right to me. Before I go back for a fight, I want to sound half way knowledgeable. On our factory stereo, we have the XM/AUX button, but do not have an XM radio. Can't the DVD sound be pushed through that button instead of searching for a dead radio station?? Any help would be GREATLY appreciated.

Replying to: dbens (Mar 25, 2008 5:37 am) How does the aftermarket dvd player you purchased deliver sound to the factory head unit? I would guess it's cabled in. If it is, the sound should be fantastic and you should not settle for the "use IR headphones" nonsense. Take it back and have the installer make it right. If it's not cabled in (if it's merely providing sound via an FM modulator that you tune to on the FM receiver of the headunit), then, frankly my dear, that's never going to work worth a craĥ.
