A newspaper reporter is on the search for consumer commentary re: recall notices. When's the last time you received one? Did you take the vehicle in right away, or wait until the next scheduled service to address the issue? Do you feel like you receive surprisingly many recall notices or fewer than you'd expect? If you care to provide some insight on this subject for possible inclusion in the paper, please respond to me at jfallon Thanks for your consideration! Jeannine Fallon PR Director Edmunds.com PS To check recent recalls and other important ownership info on your vehicle, visit http://www.edmunds.com/maintenance/MaintenanceServlet. |

A Western daily newspaper is interested in hearing perspectives on commuting via car or light truck (SUV, minivan, pick-up). What has changed your commute over the years? What would make your commute better? Did commuting factor into your decision about a particular home or job? Have any dramatic stories about commuting? (Stories about trains, buses, bikes, tractors etc are not of interest unless they tie directly in with a story about commuting with a car or light truck.) Please send your thoughts, city/state of residence and daytime contact info to jfallon Thanks for your consideration. Jeannine Fallon PR Director Edmunds.com |

About the recall notices, One thing I have noticed is that some folks do not end up with the recall notices, because either they or the dealer (usually the dealer) has not gotten the correct info to the proper place. One thing that folks can do is to call their dealer and ask if there are any outstanding recalls on their vehicle. Have the Year, Make, Model and VIN number handy for them. They should be able to tell you if there are any recalls that need to be done. It is in your best interest and theirs. |

A writer for a national news publication is working on a story that seeks to find out what young people want in their cars. Any Scion owners out there? Anyone shop a Scion and decide against it? If neither, what do you like? If you’re under 25 years old and recently bought a car or will do so very soon, the writer would like to talk to you. You must be willing to be quoted by name. Send an email with your phone number to carguy147 |

The computer age has not erased the bumper sticker. (But, really, with all that adhesive, what can?) With political season upon us and 10 states voting on Super Tuesday, the bumper sticker remains a campaign communication for the ages. From Chevy Cavaliers to Mercedes sedans, the bumper is always an ends to a means -- a perpetual ad. Kerry. Edwards. Bush. All hawk bumper stickers on their websites. There are slogans: HORN BROKEN/WATCH FOR FINGER. ... HONOR STUDENT. ... But when you couple free speech with adhesive, there's bound to be bumper sticker remorse -- whether for a campaign or some other expression. What do you do when the passion fades? If Ralph Nader was your guy in 2000 but not now, what's a poor car owner to do? My name is Marlon Manuel and I'm writing a story about bumper stickers, who uses them and why. Please call me (770-509-4097: office) or e-mail me (mmanuel Please contact Jeannine Fallon, PR Director for Edmunds.com, at jfallon Thanks! |
