Okay here is an update to what I have done about my tailgate cables...   A quick update to catch up those who may have missed, I recieved a recall letter regarding the cables rusting through and breaking and that if I would like I may take it to my dealer for inspection and no-cost replacement. I inspected my cables and although i didn't see anything major, I decided to go ahead take it in and have them replaced. That was several weeks ago. I finally got around to calling the dealer to schedule an appointment. When I mentioned I had a 2001 S-10 immediatly the service guy said "for the tailgate huh"... I said "yeah, how'd you know". "Oh I've only done about a thousand of those over the past couple months."   Anyway it goes into the dealer next week for the "fix". Also at the same time my Impala is getting its horn and a separating dash panel looked at.

Replying to: flipper3 (Oct 03, 2006 6:38 pm) 2004 S10 Crewcab with electronic 4wd suddenly stopped going into 4wdHi. Under warranty, so took back, bad connection on plug at T-case. They cleaned it and it's ok. Maybe you want to check all those connections closely; could be that simple.

Replying to: oconee_jack (Oct 10, 2006 10:43 am) Your reply is to a post 5 1/2 years old. I installed an electric fan on my s-10. If you have a/c its a whole different ball game. If you don't wire it correctly you can blow up your compressor.

Replying to: alcan (Jul 15, 2005 2:36 pm) Belated thanks. After I found and replaced it, I discovered that the problem was my burnt out wires about 4 inches from it that I didn't find until my new VSS wouldn't work. Thanks again
