This is a distributorless ignition system, with MPI fuel system. Sometimes runs for a a minute or so, sometimes just a few seconds. Dies abruptly with no sputtering. Scanner reads no error codes. Have visually inspected everything I can think of. Fuel pressure is within specs. Fuel regulator is working. Battery cables and connections at battery clean. When engine dies, dash lights come on. I'm at the end of my rope. Any suggestions would be GREATLY appreciated.

I have a 1991 chevy s-10 w about 120k miles. The truck has always run very smoothly. After seeing a noticeable leak of coolant I flushed out the radiator. After refilling and waiting to observe the leak I noticed that there wasn't a leak anymore. However, now the car was idling very roughly. When driving there was now a hesitation and stuttering in the acceleration. Additionally there is a knocking sound from the (air)filter area and the engine shakes a little. The car idles very shakily but doesn't conk out.

I recieved an letter from GM today about my tail gate cables... Basically telling me that if I need to replace them, to take it to the dealer and it will be taken care of.... I guess I'll head in and have it taken care of. It will also give me the opportunity to ask them about the tranny flush after 100K that I have been meaning to get to. Plus my Impala has a defective horn that needs looking at which because it is still less than 3 years old and only has 20K miles on it shouldn't be a problem to have taken care of. I also need to have them see if they can do anything about the gap between the dash top and dash front.... All minor ticky tacky things which don't really bother me, but I guess I should just get them taken care of.

I have a 2001 S-10, Crew Cab. You can have the radio on and the display says it is on and receiving a signal. You can not hear it. You turn up and down the volume and still nothing coming out of speakers. Sometimes you can turn the truck a certain way the speakers may come on, sometime it is opening or closing one of the doors, a person may just sit on a seat, hit a bump in the road. It may blast you out of the truck when it comes on. Sometimes when it comes on the speakers appear to increase in volume right after you can hear them. It has gone as long as two months and not play then comes on for several seconds or may play normally for a week. Any suggestions on how to try and chase down the problem. It is very annoying. The radio has a CD Player and a remote cassette player with it. All was factory installed.

Replying to: thazard (Sep 12, 2006 4:44 am) Checked voltage to ICM and coils, never looses voltage. Had ICM checked out at auto parts store. Tested four times in a row to make sure unit was warm. Tested good all four times. Checked coils as per manual with an ohm meter, both checked good. Checked crank sensor as per manual, checked good. Plug wire resistance checked within specifications but varied a lot. Plugs looked ok. I will replace them both for good measure. HELP! Please!

| Today windows were fogged up so I switched to defrost setting. After windows cleared I switched back to AC. Noticed I was not feeling cool air. All the air was coming out of defrost vent. Fan was running and the air was cold. Just not coming out of the main vents. The truck has 82000 miles and still runs good. Anyone have any ideas for what might be wrong? Everything had been working fine prior to this. Thanks Bud | |
