Razorstar wheels - re: scotian, all by tnsc_300m

Yeah Scotian, I definently agree about the Razorstar rims they're gorgeous. I'm trying to find out if Chrysler actually cast these themselves or who OEM'd them for DC. I'd like a set of 4 (or 5) 18" x 8" Razorstar rims myself.

When they mounted my new Michelins today I took a close look at the unmounted rim. no obvious clues there. there's a small logo on the chrome that looks like " JIL ", and on the inside of the rim there's a Chrysler "pentastar" logo. No other clues I could see to identify who actually cast the wheel for DC.
I did find out who does the beautiful chrome plating. In my old Badyears I found a barcode label that had come off the rim.
 Kuntz Electroplating in Ontario, Canada
Check out www.kuntz.com it has images of our beautifully chromed split 5 spoke rims all over their site.

Yo Av, since you got that unmounted rim handy, do you see anything that ID's it's maker?
I guess I just have a hard time believing DC did this wheel "strictly inhouse" and would like to find a source for these rims (hopefully in different sizes).
thanks folks.

You could still do everything without removing the trunk lock; you'd just have to mount the wing emblem a bit lower and carve out enough from it so the lock fits in. Make sure you install the nylon cord.

I like the way 20s look on the M, but are they practical for driving to work and back every day?

Razorstars- Hey tnsc, Dc does not make this wheel themselves , they buy them. I used to know who did them but it slips my mind . I will look into this at work and try and get some info for you . I do have a feeling that they are done some place in Ontario .We no longer use this rim ,but I imagine the same company makes others for us..

Removing "Chrysler" Lettering is Sooooo Easy by mboomgarden1

For those who are considering doing this, it really is a piece of cake. I didn't heat my lettering with a blow dryer--it was a hot, sunny day and didn't pose any problems. I tried the floss trick on the first couple of letters, then discovered it was just as easy to simply get my thumbnail under a corner and start peeling the letters back (they're a very flexible plastic--almost like a foam). After getting them off, I used WD-40 to clean up the remaining residue, then went over the areas with some Zymol Cleaner Wax. I did both sides and the trunk in less than a half hour.

The new look is, to my eye, nicer and makes the car look a little more customized. I'm considering taking the 300M badges off the sides, but I'm a little uncertain whether it would be a plus. Anyone have photos of a clean-sided M? Is the technique basically the same as for the lettering?

Be prepared if you do that...

there are holes under there that accomodate the side blinkers found on the eurpoean M's.

Avalanche has a clean-sided M... even took off the body moulding. Don't have the website available to my ready, but I'm sure if he reads this, he'll point you in the direction of a picture

u know me pretty good myke..

i took off the 300m emblem up on the front fenders, and i filled in that accent line when i shaved the handles, cuz if you leave the accent line the car looks like one HUGE 2 door.

no emblems, no bagding, no accent line, nothing at all except for that chrysler wing at the front. and that will be gone soon. i don't do this out of hate for chrysler or anything, lol. its the "in thing" to do now, right herm?
