No1trust:Yes. Through 9-3-02 (I think) there is 0.0 for up to 60 months. Plus there are some shmokin' deals out there to boot. As far as CD changers, I have one in my 2001 300M and ny wife's 2001 Town and Country Ltd and have never had a single problem with either one.
Carl Burger Chrysler ran an ad last weekend for 3500 off all Specials. They had it in the paper again yesterday, so I called to see what they had. The sales manager told me that the ad was last week's, run by the paper mistakenly, that it would be removed today(it was), but that he would honor it for that day only. Unfortunately, they only had one Silver with Taupe, and they had added a spoiler to it which would cost 425, my cost. I checked the expiration date on the ad and it was 7-21-02 but it was in 8-2-02's paper! I just didn't want a spoiler on the car unless I chose it, and certainly not at 425.00. I called Bob Bkaer Chrysler to see if they would price match, but they would only go 3000 off sticker. Rancho Chrysler has a price matching policy and agreed to do it. As I was waiting to go into finance, I noticed the car did not have side air bags. I figured it was no big deal, but now am having second thoughts. The only person who has e-mailed me so far about the 2001 had only one question about options on the car:side air bags! So now I'm spooked about resale. I called the dealer about returning the vehicle, possibly. I just don't have many choices. Either keep this one, get the one with the spoiler and hope I like the looks of a spoiler I'm paying too much for, or pay 500 dollars more. Number three is NOT an option, in my opinion.
SDMike:Thanks. I thought you were going to be incommunicado for two weeks? As far as changing the stereo-NO WAY. There's got to be a way to make that one sound ok. Maybe I need to swap parts with my 2001!? I called the selling dealer to check another special, and it had the same "infinity"-less tweeter boxes at the tops of the doors. So I'm on a mission.
Glenn:I can't believe they meant for it to sound this bad. It sounds like a base model Astro van! Does anyone remember the site with teh speaker wiring instructions?
Anyone:Should we take a vote on whether I keep this car? If I have ANY chance at all of unwinding, it's got to be done this weekend.

I went to the store yesterday and met a fellow Mer. We were talking he showed me his M (except for a few additions (wing, bra, and window deflectors) it was stock. I then show him mine and was going through the additions I made, when I got to the rear camera. It didn't work, I poped the lid and it went on, closed it, and it went out permently. Luckly the rest of the car worked. It turned out to be the plug post wire broke. I gave it a good sodering job (it should never happen again. Now I am ready for the next encounter. I have him a card (my last) and hope to here from him again (he was leaving on vacation for several weeks) when he gets back.

The Cadillac CTSi is comming out with a 5.7L (sounds familure) with 350hp and Manual tranny next (2003) fall. It is beginning to sound like the Chryslers will be in the middle of the pack instead of leading it.

#20313 of 26385 2004 Chryslers by 300michael

The engine offerings for the 2004's list as 3.7L V-6, 4.7L V-8, and 5.7L V-8. At least I hope this is true. I would hate to see a 2.7L put into a LX car.

#20314 of 26385 Whew - Duals are installed by videoman1

After weeks of anticipation (waiting for extra $$ then parts to come in) I got the duals installed. It was definitely worth the wait. If you get a chance, check them out.

The tips are from Truck Ad Ons http://www.truckaddons.com/Catalog/subpages/toucan_tips01.htm number T564. Expensive but I think they're worth it. I would be kicking myself if I got something I didn't like just to save a few bucks.

All in all, the cost was:

Tips - $188.00
Dynomax Super Turbo (Summit Racing) - $44.50
Magnaflow Collector (Bestautopartsonline.com) - $82.84
Installation (Local Meineke Discount Mufflers...the guy did an awsome job making custom pipes) - $140.00
Total cost - $455.34

With less expensive tips, it would have been consideribly less for the whole job. I got lots of photos of the installation that I'll put online shortly.

The radio on Christine was replaced early on because it was defective. I did have the "upgraded" Infinity stereo that originally started out as 320 watts. Somewhere along the way, DC said it was 360 watts.

Anyway, never had a problem with the CD player. The only problem was that if I turned it up too loud, the driver's door/speaker would vibrate. As for the sound, it was okay, but not what I expected for an "upgraded" system. I still say that the best system I ever had was in my 1994 Infiniti J-30. It was a BOSE! Before that radio, I never really knew what a GOOD stereo sounded like. Of course, BOSE designs the stereo according to the manufacturer's specs and the car's interior. The BOSE in my Acura CL-S is NOTHING like the Infiniti J-30 BOSE, but better then the Infinity in Christine.
