Grinding noise on hard turns by vfont

The same thing happened to me and the dealer said there were dry grease fittings. Once they greased the joints, the noise went away and everything's been fine since.

thinking of defecting by marlin77

I have my share of posts in the topic listed above this one so I need some GM fan input. it's time for my 96 explorer to go. all in all an adequet performer. seating and leg room the best for a larger guy. I have not been much of a GM fan in many years but these new vehicles intrigue me. this in line six loaded with torque and up looks very appealing but what's the thought on investing this much money in a vehicle with an unproven motor. anybody a little scared about this? when ford switched from the push rod v-6 to the SOHC six it turned into a nightmare for people.

I can't find any info from the brochure on the Bravada that implies that it has a transmission cooler for towing. Does anyone know?

bjp5, your Bravada has a transmission cooler. Look at the bottom of the radiator area. It is the full width of the radiator and about 4" high.

vfont, wonder about the grease fittings. As far as I know from observation, and checking the service section of the manual all joints ,etc are sealed. No grease Zerks.?????

GM will be using 4 and 5 cylinder versions of this inline 6 in other vehicles, so I would have to say that they have invested a huge amount of time and money in this engine. Also, inline motors inherently are more reliable, so I was not afraid to purchase this "new" technology.

Running boards re-visited by imototo

Picked up my new 2002 Bravado on the 27th. The Envoy running boards look great on it... in fact, the sales re said they looked better on the Bravado than on the Envoy. Don't know since I haven't seen them on the Envoy. So, for all who've been asking about running boards, my experience turned out well (so far)and I only paid under $200 to have the dealership remove it from one of their Envoys in stock (their idea) and install it.

Now I have a question as well. My Bravado doesn't have a cap covering the hole where a trailer hitch would go. My sales re (in his follow-up call Monday) said the Envoy and Bravado don't come with a cap. Is this true? My neighbor's Toyota 4-Runner has a cap with the Toyota emblem. I'm assuming I can get a cap at Pep Boys or another auto parts store but will it fit? Will it look as nice as the Toyota's?
