| People go to Honda to buy a Honda, they were not fooled to believe that the Isuzus were Hondas, so they did not sell. | |
If the name doesn't matter then why does a used 2001 Passport EX 4WD V-6 with 24,000 miles have a higher average retail price than a Rodeo LSE 4WD V-6 with 24,000 miles? If you look them both up at NADA the difference is $1,925. Not to say that people are paying these prices for either vehicle, but the Honda will bring in a higher price because of the name. I would bet most people do not even know the Passport is actually an Isuzu Rodeo. |
| The Trooper and SLX both had very low sales. I think the Trooper was under 20,000 units per year for the last couple. The SLX was around 10K...or so I vaguely remember from some article I read a while ago. | |
The difference is that the passport sold for more than $2K more than a comprable rodeo, so they paid up front for that $2K. -mike |
| And Honda was able to get that $2k more up front because of their name. | |
I'd definitely buy that. Americans are sheep, they flock to Honda and Toyota like God-himself built the vehicles! -mike |

| The new GM colorado/canyon is based on an Isuzu design as well. I guess everybody gets a new Isuzu truck except Isuzu. | |
| If Isuzu makes a truck for Mazda does that also become a Ford truck? Or is Mazda going away from sharing with Ford? | |
